Midyear School-based In-Service Training (InSeT) serves as a pivotal moment for educators to further enhance their professional skills and adapt to the changing educational landscape. It
focuses on addressing the specific needs of educators, promoting innovative teaching methodologies, and integrating technology to enhance the learning experience.

With these purposes, Barucboc National High School teachers wrestled with the cold weather to start the Midyear INSET today, January 24, 2024. The chilly surrounding, adds an additional layer of enthusiasm, fostering a conducive environment for collaborative learning and growth.

Moreover, Ma'am Mary Marjorie S. Millanes, the teacher-in-charge, encouraged the teachers to be participative in this InSeT.

In the statement of purpose, Ma'am Nela A. Carag, the program owner/proponent, quoted Nelson Mandela who said "The greatest glory in living lies not in never failing but rising everytime we fail". With it, she added that when someone is both trained and educated, they become a more valuable worker.

These words of encouragement fueled the teachers to be more collaborative in this endeavor.

In a groundbreaking move, Barucboc National High School headed by Lorinda Z. Lopez introduced a novel program, Catch-Up Friday Reading Activity, leaving a lasting impact on the academic journey of its students.

Basyang students shares their firsthand experience navigating through this innovative approach that has redefined the educational landscape. Angelica Bumanglag, a grade 12 GAS student, said that the introduction of Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Catch-Up Fridays on January 12 marked a significant departure from the usual school routine. Furthermore, the adaptability inherent in DEAR's Catch-Up Fridays provided Margie Balmores an HE student and her classmates with the opportunity to explore subjects that posed challenges earlier in the week.

Additionally, Jayson Lyn Viernes, ICT 11 student, illustrates his weekdays as where the tapestry of academic progress is woven, one strand at a time. The true impact of DEAR unfolded before his eyes, revealing its affirmative effects on his learning experience. Concepts that initially posed challenges now stand illuminated, thanks to the additional time and support generously offered by teachers, peers, and newfound allies.

The organized framework not only allowed students to prioritize their literary pursuits but also cultivated a sense of responsibility and ownership over their reading journey. Drop Everything And Read not only enriched individual students but also cultivated a culture of collaboration, generating a positive ripple effect within the student community.

Enrichment, evolution, and enjoyment emerged as defining features of this initiative as classmates collaborated in exploring intricate literary themes, transforming individual reading endeavors into a school community-driven initiative. What started as an ambitious concept evolved into an integral aspect of the academic routine, significantly enhancing the overall reading experience.

Converge together by the magic of literature where Basyangโ€™s shared laughter, newfound literary treasures, and cherished memories have transformed into a unifying force that transcends the traditional boundaries of academic pursuits. This reading initiative has sculpted an experience that transcends the ordinary, etching a lasting impression on the collective spirit of all participants.
