Missy’s Cackle Berries and Poultry
I'm a small hobby breeder who specializes in rare and exotic poultry breeds.
I currently have Ayam Cemanis, White Sultans, Salmon Faverolles, Russian Orloffs, and Yamato Gunkeis.
I received some weird FB warning about loosing this page. If I do, please just go to my personal page. Kind of tired of this FB bu****it! I am also setting up my own website. Love you guys! 😘 😊
Some of the older chicks are going through the ugly phase. And of course they got in their water before it was time for pictures🤣
Took some pictures of my Colored Sultans chicks today. So excited about the Blues!
Well the incubators were full yesterday with these cute, fluffy Salmon Faverolle nuggets 🥰
Just sharing some pictures that I took the other day.
Incubators are finally loaded with Salmon Faverolle eggs. Hatching dates will be around the 24th of March so please watch for updates! 😊
Just wanted to give a huge shout to my husband Brent Good and my boys. They’re doing a great job being nurses and taking care of everything while I’m laid up from back surgery . I also have a large support group. Thanks guys!! 😘❤️❤️
Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Some of my colored Sultans
Hi everyone!
I am so sorry that I have not posted for several months. It's been an extremely rough year and have suffered many setbacks. However, I will spare you all with the details. I know that many of my fellow chicken friends have also had tough times as well this year, so I am definitely not looking for sympathy. S**t just happens sometimes when farming, ranching or in animal husbandry.
It has made me come to some decisions with how I want to move forward, and I have decided that I will be pulling back with some of my bird projects. I realized that I had gotten so caught up in trying to compete with so many others out there and trying to please everyone that I was losing focus on what I already had, loved and enjoyed. I was no longer having fun or enjoying something that for me is a hobby. An expensive, time-consuming hobby, but a hobby non-the-less.
My main focus going forward will be my Salmon Faverolles and my Sultans. These are my heart birds and I have been breeding and working with them for probably 15 years now. I also have colored Sultans that I have been working on for a few years that I will be releasing to the public next spring. I have to say that their egg production and their desire to be moms is amazing compared to the whites!
And I know that I said that I was completely out of the Ayam Cemani for good but...A good friend of mine has refused to let me throw in the towel!! This pair that I have now come from some of the very best in the States, so please stay tuned and let's see what hatches this spring!!
As we go into the Holiday season, I hope everyone stays safe and warm! And thank you all for the amazing support!
My Story
I'm a small breeder who specializes in rare and exotic poultry breeds. I currently raise Ayam Cemanis, White Sultans, Salmon Faverolles, Russian Orloffs, and Yamato Gunkei. I also have several quail breeds; my favorite being the California Quail. I also have some ducks running around, as well as an old, grumpy, pot belly pig.
I grew up raising livestock and was an avid horseback rider (showing, barrel racing and trail riding). I guess you could say that I could ride before I could walk! At one time my life aspiration was to become a veterinarian, spending many hours volunteering and helping out at a veterinary clinic in Oregon, but life and finances took me another direction...A big move to Wyoming! This is where I would later meet my future husband and marry into a farming family. I continued with my horses and owned a nice flock of registered Columbia sheep. After settling down for a few years and starting a family, life and finances took us another direction...again. This time to South Carolina! I had to leave my horses and sheep behind when we started our new lives here in the south, which was hard for me to do. With nerve damage and many old injuries coming back to haunt me, its probably for the best.
Anyway...I have turned my passion for breeding and raising animals towards chickens. We’ve always had some running around the farm but never really got too much involved with the different breeds until moving to South Carolina. That’s when a now good friend of mine introduced me to Salmon Faverolles and White Sultans! I decided right then that I didn’t want to raise what everyone else has (no offense to anyone reading this!) but wanted to get involved in lesser known and rare varieties.
Oh...Just so you know...I am a sucker for all chickens! I do have a coop full of a mish mash of breeds. So a breed snob I am not! :)
