❤️We are very excited to welcome the enigmatic Swedish techno collective Floormagnet to Maelstrom. They debut with this magical melodic techno beast called “Música Electrónica.” The track has already been premiered on Soundspace and supported by Apple Music on New in Music and we’ve only just started.

The track “Música Electrónica” was created last summer during a studio session in the countryside in northern Sweden. The creative process started after reminiscing about memories of Ibiza in the ‘90s. We drew influences from our stays on the island during 1990-1995, a period when the music was something else. From there, we began with elements such as kick/beat, bassline, arpeggios, and the pluck melody that we almost simultaneously exclaimed, “Yeah, that’s it!”

As we stood there jamming in the evening sun with the barbecue ready, the idea was also ready! In the production, we used a Moog Sub 37, TB-303, the little Roland S1, and a Hydra synth, plus some nice plugins. The DAW used was Cubase. With this track, we wanted to bring the crowd back in time to that awesome feeling and atmosphere on the dance floor - love, joy, and electronic music in the right environment. “Música electrónica soy tu droga” (Electronic music, I’m your drug).

The label started off in 2001 as a Trance label which launched the careers of some of the biggest names in both mainstream Dance and the underground club scenes including Tiësto, Sia, Lange, Cosmic Gate and more.

Over the years we've evolved, traversing the lines of Trance and Techno music, with our fingers firmly on the pulse of the underground. This year we're finally relaunching, ushering in the new wave of exciting, young talent across Techno and Trance.
