Ever wondered why our bags have such beautiful and unique fabrics?
Our bags are made from fabric that was once considered "Deadstock" or leftover. Rather than ending up in a landfill, we transform into beautiful bags.

Though we serve over 30 girls full-time in our safe homes we knew there was more we could do. We knew we needed to still be involved in our community. We have an program that serves nearly 300 girls every week from ages 4 to 18 years old. This allows us to stay involved in the community by walking alongside girls and their families.

How many do you have? Everyone needs at least one of these cuties.

Walking with them is our greatest honor and joy.

Shout out to our amazing friends from the for coming and building the beautiful playhouses! Our girls spend hours in them each day. We are so excited for when it's ready to be painted!

We have this light within us that no darkness can overcome. Our work is to show up as light and push back the darkness.

You might see hands working at a sewing machine, but let me tell you what we see.

They are the hands of one of our beautiful artisans.
Hands that have prayed for new beginnings.
Hands that continue to care for family. Both of blood and community.
Hands that have learned to love and serve in a new way.
A way that empowers her and others.
A way that gives her hope and freedom.

They are watching.
They are listening.
May we be those who blaze the trail and light the path for them to walk boldly on.

It is such a privilege that we get to continue to serve in our community with our outreach program. Through shared laughter and joyful moments, we cultivate bonds that uplift our spirits.
In these interactions, we find strength and support, reminding us of the power of togetherness.

Soaking EVERYTHING in. What a beautiful and special place we have created to feed their minds and dreams. To encourage them to want for so much more than the heartbreaking lower expectations that they have grown-up with.

What is your workplace like?
Ours is marked by music, laughter, the hum of sewing machines, and sometimes tears.
It is a safe place to come as you are and to know you will be met with an embrace - literally and figuratively.

“Look I’m in a magazine!”

We were so excited that we were featured in the CRA Today magazine!! They told our story so beautifully as they highlighted the importance of conscious consumerism. What made it even more special was that we got to take a copy home, back to the Dominican Republic, and share it with our workshop team - the heartbeat behind our bags.

This showed them how people they’ve never even met are cheering for them and believing in the beauty of their work! Proof of the growth we are making. Holding the story in their hands showed them that others are aware and impacted by THEIR story of hope and healing.

What does it mean to "Be Light"?
This whole summer we have been telling our girls that they are a part of Generation Light!
We tell them and remind them that they are capable of great things. Being the first to in their families to finish high school, and go to college. That their character, intelligence, and beliefs are not only important but beautiful. How they treat others and serve their community is empowering to them and those around them. That they, the light, will always find others in the darkness.
