"box good mornings" is a great exercise that mimics the deadlift pattern. Straight off the boxes so no eccentric motion. Here's 245lbs for one rep
Deficit deadlifts (I am standing on 2 inch plates) will increase speed off the floor. Here's 225lbs(102kg) with fatgripz on the bar for sets of 8. Lower hip positioning and more leg drive this time. Easy as pie!
This was around two months ago. 153kg double overhand grip deadlifts. A week later I hit 163 overhand grip as well. Have not tested since then. I'll upload the exercises I'm using to bring up my #deadlift later on.
Tarek's new milestone
More vertical box jumps. Tarek, client and friend as well, conquered his fear of jumping (you can see the hesitation before the jump) and landed on his new milestone. Tarek is also in England now pursuing his PhD in ass kickery. Major lifts especially with the lower body improved fantastically with Tarek. Will do some serious damage in the UK that's for sure. Maya hitting a new record!
Two weeks ago, friend and client Maya flew to England to pursuit higher education. However she was already "flying higher" before she left. Her vertical jump improved dramatically along side her basic strength movements and conditioning. Super proud of you Maya! Kick ass in England or should I say "arse"!
Bilateral exercises are great. However some people tend to develop imbalances due to using one side more than then other. Enter unilateral work. Single leg romanian deadlifts. Excellent hamstring and glutes exercise. Go heavy on some sets then light on others. Going on a whole three months with unilateral work. Try it and tell me what you think
