So! Who survived. Veganuary? Any casualties? We had nearly 30 people ask for our guide to going vegan, 30 people make the choice to go cruelty free and it lights my fire!

I put together a sample menu for one of our OSS members who I’m working on nutrition with. I thought it might be useful to some of you too.

Getting in protein really isn’t the tricky bit.
It’s relearning what foods are rich in what micro and macronutrients. I know it’s cumbersome and you’re busy people so reach out to us for help. We’re passionate about this and want to help if you need it.

Have your vegan cake and eat it too :)

I'm no pastry chef and this was super duper easy and the results were amazing!

You can buy the cake mix here and try for yourself

Following up on our previous post, here are some great sources of B12 that we found in our fridge and pantry.

1-2 servings of any of these products will meet your daily requirements if B12 đź’Ş

Let us know if you have any questions about any of these.

Hi guys! How's the dairy cut going? Give us a shout if you're having any questions. Common side effects of cutting dairy:
A happy tummy
Clear, healthy skin
Feelings of confusion as to why you were drinking breast milk for so long...

Did you know animal agriculture is responsible for a minimum of 15% of climate change?
The next challenge will be to cut BEEF!

Vegan Visits Dairy Farm 19/10/2018

WEEK 1 CHALLENGE & SOCIAL/GROUP MEAL

Starting 22nd Oct - Ditch the Dairy (any food that contains milk from the breast of an animal)

Social: We're thinking Honest Burger at 1pm after training for the Beyond Meat "Beyond Burger". Who's in? :)

A reminder why we aren’t cool with milk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL9QJEm_SJY

Cruelty free milk replacements:
Mylk - tastes just like whole milk, foams a little in coffee
Oat - creamy, our personal favourite for coffee, nice for mashed potatoes!
Almond milk - no almonds were r***d for the making of this milk but it’s quite sweet and really nice in shakes/smoothies and in cereal
Soy milk - relatively high in protein, good all-arounder
Coconut milk - sweet, great in shakes, latte’s, also nice for cooking!

Cheese replacements
Violife - there are many brands but our favourite is this one. In particular the V-mozzarella goes melty on things like pizza, the grated V-cheese is good for just about anything and the V-parmesan is like the real thing
We highly recommend the V-pizza at Pizza Express and this vegan pizzeria in Camden: http://purezza.co.uk/london-menu/

Sweet tooth?
Alpro Chocolate Soya dessert
Ben & Jerry’s vegan ice cream
Alpro Soya ice cream
Dark chocolate
Most places have a vegan option on their desert menu, try Crosstown Donuts for a V-donut!

Protein powders
Huel (meal replacement, contains all the essential proteins vitamins and minerals your body wants/needs)
Bulk powders v-protein
There are lots of others but those are our fav right now!

Butter & cooking replacements
Dairy-free butter alternatives such as Flora or Pure
Coconut oil (especially nice for Asian, Indian or Thai cooking)
Avocado oil (so good for a salad dressing too)

As with regular dairy, the desserts and cheeses should be enjoyed in moderation as they are equally high in fats as regular dairy. But they’re fine to be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.

Vegan Visits Dairy Farm I will never forget the hours spent at this place and the horrific things that I saw whilst there. take a 22 day vegan challenge âžť http://bit.ly/22veganed su...

Our MO: We do not believe animals should suffer for our tastebuds, our fashion, our cosmetics or our entertainment. By 2048, we could have fishless oceans. Did you know the fishing industry is responsible for the largest amount of plastic pollution in our oceans? You do now. We know that not everyone cares about animal welfare, and we think that’s sad. But I think we can all agree that we don’t want to be responsible for the demise of the planet. Since 2010 the UN has been urging us all to adopt a more plant-based diet to avoid permanent and devastating climate change. If you’re here, you’ve already decided that you want to make a positive change.

You don’t have to agree that a chicken has the same value as your own life. That’s a different argument and one that’s not relevant. To ditch animal derived products and go cruelty free, you only need agree that an animals life (and the quality thereof) is worth more than your tastebuds, your shampoo, your entertainment...

We're going to help you through the transition to make it tasty and full of gains, completely guilt-free.
