Northern Chautauqua Soccer Association
NCSA offers year round opportunities to play soccer. Futsal, Spring and Fall Travel, Academy and TOPSoccer.
The Northern Chautauqua Soccer Association program began in the summer of 1988, with just over 100 participants. Last year, we had over 800 summer recreational players from ages 3 to 18. In addition, we have organized boys and girls Spring travel teams.
As we prepare for the last two days of our summer rec programming, we are asking parents/guardians to share any of their pictures to our Google Photos account! These pictures can be shared with our sponsors and help us remember the Summer of 2024!
Facebook is making it tough for me to share the link, so the link to post or view pictures is in the comments!
NCSA Summer 2024 Rec Soccer 17 new items added to shared album
Tuesday, July 30 NCSA Summer Rec Soccer Programming.
Due to the current weather and anticipated radar through 6pm, we are delaying the start of the Little Kickers, 6U, 8U, and 10U programs until 6:30pm.
This will certainly cause confusion and force coaches to make adjustments, so please be patient as we try our best to have as normal of an evening at soccer as possible.
The 12U/14U boys program will still begin at 7:15 as normal.

Soccer is ON for tonight, Monday July 15!
The fields are in AMAZING shape after all of that rain...nice breeze will help keep things cool this evening.
Soccer is ON for tonight!
We may move the 12/14u girls program at 7:15 to one of our smaller (and dryer fields).
Let's play soccer tonight!
The weather appears to be cooperating with the most recent radar.
As of 5pm, ALL rec soccer games are being played this evening!
We are closely monitoring this evenings weather. Although we are under a tornado watch, the current forecasted radar seems favorable to having our Summer Rec programming.
The decision for our 6pm soccer groups (Little Kickers, 6U, 8U, and 10U) will be made around 5pm.
The decision for our 7:15pm soccer groups (12u/14u) will be made around 6:10pm.
Please check back to this page for the most up to date information. We will also email out all participants if soccer needs to be cancelled.
With the other parking lots at Fredonia High School being paved, we are asking all cars to enter using the Lakeview Avenue entrance near the Inner Lakes Credit Union. The other entrance off Route 20 has been blocked off.
The parking lot near the tennis courts and playground is open for use today.
We aren't sure when they plan on lining the newly sealed pavement, but we will try to keep people posted as we get the info.
**PLEASE SHARE**
Fredonia School has sealed their back parking lot and access road to Lakeview Avenue. All cars will be forced to park in the front lots closest to Main Street, and people will have to walk around the building to get to our fields tonight.
Please plan on arriving at the school 10 minutes earlier than normal in anticipation of the walk to our fields.
We apologize for the late notice but we were only made aware of this by a shared post on Facebook within the last hour.
Unless the radar changes, we are confident the lightning will be beyond the fields by 6pm enough to play this evening!
Individual pictures will occur from roughly 5pm (based on weather) to 6pm...then from 6:00 to 6:45 we will be doing the Little Kickers pictures. If the weather stays nice, individual pictures will also be available after the games this evening, but we don't want to set a defined end time.
Very sorry to say, but we are canceling Summer Rec soccer this evening, Wednesday, June 26th.
There is still a high chance of thunder and lightning through 7:30pm and the rain will continue through as well.
Pictures are rescheduled for July 3rd.
We are closely monitoring the storms that are expected to start in Northern Chautauqua County. The decision to play soccer tonight will be made around 5pm. Please note that we take field conditions, wind, and previously fallen rain into consideration, not just the current anticipated forecast.
Pictures have been postponed for this evening. We have set the retakes for Wednesday, July 3rd.
With the upcoming cooler temperatures this week, we're hoping to get back to a full game of practices and games this week!
We are happy to welcome back Ayla Kramer to do our individual and team pictures this year. As a reminder, this week will be individual and team pictures. All team pictures will be done during the organized practice/game times. Individual pictures, with the exception of the Little Kickers, will be on a first come first serve basis at the times listed below. Little Kickers will have their individual and team pictures done during their practice time on Tuesday or Wednesday.
The entire picture schedule linked below for all information. Please come to the pavilion near the playground for an order form and to ask any additional questions you may have. The digital pictures will be emailed from [email protected] as they are finished. The order form is attached, however, we will have copies in person if you don't have access to a printer.
Payments can be made through cash, check, venmo, or cashapp. Usernames for venmo and cashapp will be available at the time of your pictures.

Rec Soccer is ON for tonight! Please be prepared for numerous water breaks and likely less athletes than usual due to the anticipated heat. There is a decent breeze at Fredonia that makes it more tolerable!
REC SOCCER CANCELED FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 18TH
Due to the current and forecasted heat index, in addition to the uncertainty of the pop up thunderstorms this evening, the NCSA Board has decided to cancel recreational soccer for Tuesday, June 18th.
The NCSA Inclement Weather policy states that should the heat index, or "real feel" conditions, be above 95 degrees that all activities should be cancelled. Depending on which website you use, the average expected temperatures at 6pm and 7:15pm are close enough to this cut off temperature that we feel soccer should not be played this evening.
There is no soccer on Wednesday due to Juneteenth, and although the temperature is expected to be hot again on Thursday, we will reevaluate having soccer on Thursday.
NCSA Board of Directors
REC SOCCER IS ON FOR TONIGHT--June 17, 2024!
We're going to have rec soccer tonight even though different websites are stating different "real feel" temps. Most of our coaches are going to be there, and a few who can't be there will either have coverage or will combine teams.
Do NOT feel like you have to bring your child to soccer...they are your kid and it is entirely your decision as to what elements you'd like them playing soccer in. We might have low attendance tonight, but if you were around last year for our Canadian wildfire experience, we need to play soccer when we have weather that allows us too.
Please, please, please bring a few water bottles! Coaches have been instructed to give multiple water breaks.
Hello,
Obviously you have all heard about the hot and humid weather that we will be having this week. Our current weather policy for recreational soccer relates to the "feels like" temperature. Please see the NCSA Inclement Weather Policy (linked below) for reference in the event our temperatures exceed 95 degrees for the "real feel". If the temperatures exceed 95 degrees and we are forced to cancel, an email will be sent to the league participants, coaches, as well as an update posted on our page.
Coaches should NOT cancel their practices individually; we will make a decision on behalf of the league as early as we possibly can.
Each night we have soccer this week, which as a reminder we do NOT have soccer on Wednesday due to Juneteenth, coaches should plan for extra water breaks.

We've made it to opening week of 2024 Summer Rec soccer! Thank you to the ten volunteers that showed up this weekend to help get our fields and uniforms ready!
Our field map has changed slightly for the 6U and 8U field being swapped.
Please remember the following items:
Water bottle
Shin guards
Soccer ball (size 3 for LK and 6u, size 4 for 8U and 10U, size 5 for 12/14u)
Cleats or sneakers
Uniforms that haven't already been picked up will be available with your coaches at their field.
The schedules can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Ifsc0hDHP0rYsbmRh2w0UgmNva73Nexjm89-dpxj2s/edit?usp=drive_link
Just a reminder we would to have help pass out uniforms and set up our fields today! If you are volunteering please come to Fredonia fields at 9am.
Otherwise uniform pick up is from 10am to 12pm today. If you can't get your uniform today, your coach will have it this week!
PLEASE SHARE!!! We are looking for volunteers (coaches, uniform help, and field setup help)
We are also looking for volunteers for the following tasks:
COACHES--we still need a few more coaches for the Little Kickers (Tuesdays/Wednesday), one 6U team, two 8U teams, and our 12U/14U team. Please message us if you are interested!
UNIFORM VOLUNTEERS--Saturday, June 8th from 9:00am to 1:00pm--Volunteers to help pass out uniforms at Fredonia High School. Pizza and coffee purchased by the league in appreciation for your time! Send us a message if you are interested.
FIELD SETUP VOLUNTEERS--Saturday, June 8th from 9:00am to 1:00pm--Volunteers needed to set up the 11 soccer fields at Fredonia High School by building goals and nets, measuring out the fields, and lining the fields. Pizza and coffee purchased by the league in appreciation for your time! Send us a message if you are interested.
We are also looking for high school soccer players for the following PAID jobs:
HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER PLAYERS: Paid position to help coach/officiate the various age group soccer games throughout the summer. $20 per hour! Send us a message if you are interested.
We're still looking for the following coaches for this summers programming:
Little Kickers (Tuesday)--1 Coach
Little Kickers (Wednesday)--3 Coaches
6U M/W--2 Coaches
6U T/R--1 Coach
8U M/W--1 Coach
8U T/R--4 Coaches (YIKES!)
10U M/W--1 "Substitute" Coach
10U T/R--1 Coach
Girls 12U/14U--1 "Substitute" Coach
Boys 12U/14U--1 Coach
If we don't find coaches for these teams, we will either have to put too many kids on the few teams we have (not ideal) OR cancel that age group and evening program all together (very not ideal).
If you are considering coaching but still have some questions, shoot us a message! Sometimes just talking it out can help you build the confidence you need.
Only a few hours left in 2024 Summer Rec Soccer registration!
Remember, you will have to create a new account (so don't click "forgot password")!
Our 2024 Summer Recreation program is still accepting registrations until April 12th but we will not accept any late registrations this year! As a reminder, the registration process will likely take a few extra minutes this year as we transition to a new app. Don't wait until the last minute to get your kiddo signed up!

The annual NCSA newsletter, The Throw-In, can be found by clicking on the link found in the comments.
All of the other important information including location, dates, and times can be found in this newsletter. Please read the newsletter before reaching out with questions as there is a lot of information packed into that document.
Please know we can only offer roster spots to teams we can fill with coaches! We hope you consider coaching with our amazing program this year. We’ve incorporated video lesson plans and age group rules to make sure coaches feel supported and the game play is consistent!
Thank you for your continued support as we plan the 36th year of NCSA soccer! More information will be sent out in the upcoming months but please follow us on Facebook for updates!
NCSA Board and Volunteers
On behalf of all involved in the 2024 NCSA Summer Recreation program, welcome back for another amazing season! We are reaching out to last year's participants to fill you in on some of the recent program changes for this season to try to make your experience as NCSA participants and coaches the best possible!
This year we have been encouraged to switch our registration software to GotSport. It will likely take you just a few more minutes to register your child (or yourself as a coach), but your information will be saved to make joining a program faster in the future. There will certainly be issues during registration, but please be patient as we try to troubleshoot as quickly as possible.

We are struggling with the new registration software that we have been "encouraged" to use. Rather than rush out the registration and inevitably have tons of issues, we are pushing registration back to March 15th through April 15th.
In the meantime, we have updated our yearly newsletter with program updates and anticipated scheduling. See the newsletter link below:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Ob8YTc_p5WVKfyz2NTTPsBubGhTbS4AQlf1_YhMhek/edit?usp=drive_link
Please note, we are limiting spots for our Little Kickers program for only four year olds and two nights a week. This age group is consistently the hardest group to find coaches.
Additionally, we have switched our age groups back to the even years (6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U). This means 5 year olds will have a more traditional soccer experience as well as giving 14 year olds one last summer rec experience before joining their high school teams!
A reminder that there is NO futsal tonight (Monday, February 19th) due to Presidents Day.
Our first summer recreation meeting will be held on Thursday, February 15th at 6:30pm at Ellicottville Brewing Company in downtown Fredonia. Although we are excited with the new members that have joined on since November, we'd always like to see new and energetic people want to become more involved! Feel free to reach out and find your place in the NCSA!
Just a reminder that this Saturday (Jan 20) and the next Sunday (Jan 28th) we will be having open try-outs at Dunkirk High School for some of our travel teams. Read the post below for more info!
------------------------------------------------
Even though the snow is still flying, the Northern Chautauqua Soccer Association has already started thinking about Spring travel soccer and has coordinated with the Dunkirk City School District to host our try-outs.
Athletes can try-out on January 20th OR January 28th (only one of the two days is necessary). Try-outs times are based on birth years (see below for specific times) and will feature skills, drills, and small sided games. There is no cost for the try-outs, and athletes should have indoor shoes (sneakers), shin guards, socks, and a ball. Trying out for a team or playing in the past does not guarantee you a slot. Please direct questions to [email protected]
Athletes should enter near the high school pool on Marauder Drive.
AGE GROUP TIMES:
January 20th:
9:00-10:00 2014-2015 birth years
10:00-11:00 2012-2013 birth years
11:00-12:00 2009-2011 birth years
January 28th:
1:00-2:00 2014-2015 birth years
2:00-3:00 2012-2013 birth years
3:00- 4:00 2009-2011 birth years
Age groups older than 2009 will have opportunities to play Spring travel soccer, but we will not be hosting try-outs for those ages.
Due to the current conditions and the anticipation of more snow and wind this evening, we are cancelling Futsal for Tuesday, January 16th.
Due to the ongoing wind warning and dangerous driving conditions, all evening Futsal activities will be cancelled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Thank you for your understanding.
Futsal will continue with its regular schedule for the rest of the week.
