1000 km from Port Elizabeth to Durban, over 10 days. I plan to run 100 kilometers per day and end off my last leg with the Comrades Marathon 2017. Thank you.
BOB1000 is an initiative that started with the loss of my grandfather known as Bob. He was previously diagnosed with bladder cancer, which was successfully removed after an operation. During January 2014 he underwent an emergency operation for an aneurysm which resulted in the amputation of both his legs. Six months later Bob was once again diagnosed with cancer in the bladder. Treatment was unfor
tunately not successful and my grandfather, Bob passed away on the 20th December 2014. Seeing my grandfather’s zest for life, his will to fight and his continuous positive attitude throughout this trying time, has driven me to run in memory of this great man and raise funds for cancer, a disease so many others and their families endure. My journey is to run 1000 kilometers from Port Elizabeth to Durban from 26 May 2017 until 4 June 2017. I plan to run 100 kilometers per day and end off my 10th day by running the Comrades Marathon. A team of dedicated health professionals will supervise me on the route. Your support of this initiative would be greatly appreciated.
