Body Technician
The Collision Center Body Technician is responsible for repairing vehicles to industry standards.
Qualifications
Knowledge of common repair practices on metals, plastics, fiberglass, rubber, aluminum, and chrome
One year experience in automotive repair
Valid driver’s license and driving record consistent with company policy and insurance carrier requirements
ASE or ICAR certification or begin process to obtain within six (6) months of employment

We're hiring for a Collision Center Paint Technician/Prepper in Selma! This position is responsible for refinishing vehicles to industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Painter:
• Knowledge of common preparation and painting practices on metals, plastics, rubber, aluminum, fiberglass, and chrome
• One year experience in body and paint
• Ability to supervise work of an apprentice
• Valid driver's license and driving record consistent with company policy and insurance carrier requirements
• ASE or ICAR certification or begin process to obtain within six (6) months of employment

Prepper/Helper:

• No experience required
• Valid driver's license and driving record consistent with company policy and insurance carrier requirements
• ASE or ICAR certification or begin process to obtain within six (6) months of employment

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

• Ability to complete repair orders
• Ability to differentiate between colors
• Good communication skills, including an ability to satisfactorily communicate with other Collision Center personnel and customers
• Reading skills, including an ability to read and analyze repair orders
• Analytical skills, including an ability to assess required work and develop procedures for performing same and to recognize discrepancies or additional work that may be required
• Organizational skills, including ability to comply with scheduling demands of other personnel
• Computer skills
• Ability to operate paint equipment and inspect vehicle
• Ability to safely and effectively operate painting equipment and other finishing equipment
• Ability to pass all required lung tests and respirator fits
• Ability to transport paint materials and refinishing/painting equipment weighing 25 pounds or more
• Ability to stand six to eight hours per shift

The Collision Center Estimator/Advisor is responsible for generating the gross sales of the store. S/he must have knowledge of the estimating/claims processes and must have negotiating, sales and communication skills. S/he must have a positive attitude with customers, insurance representatives and employees, and must portray a professional business image.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Valid driver's license and driving record consistent with company policy and insurance carrier requirements
3. ASE or ICAR certification or begin process to obtain within six (6) months of employment

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Strong communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate (both verbal and written) with other Collision Center personnel, customers, and insurance company representatives
2. Strong reading and writing skills, including an ability to read and analyze repair estimates, prepare written estimates, and prepare and/or respond to written communications to/from customers, insurance company representatives, or other business entities
3. Good mathematical skills and accuracy, and knowledge of estimating process
4. Strong analytical skills
5. Strong organizational skills, including ability to schedule work with other Collision Center personnel, coordinate necessary work with customers and insurance companies, and organize the collection of monies due for work performed
6. Ability to operate vehicles ( automatic and standard transmissions)
7. Knowledge of automobile body repair and refinishing
8. Knowledge of automobile mechanics
9. Ability to access vehicles to generate estimates, monitor repairs, and perform quality control inspections
10. Ability to stand for six to eight hours per shift

Essential Job Functions:

1. Greet customers and insurance company representatives courteously
2. Initiate and complete repair estimates
3. Inspect damaged vehicles and prepare written estimates of costs to repair and paint said vehicles to specified condition
4. Coordinate scheduling of work with other Collision Center personnel
5. Coordinate authorization to perform work and completion of work with customer and applicable insurance company
6. Perform quality control on all repairs, including road testing
7. Inspect and deliver restored vehicles to customers
8. Secure collection of monies due to Collision Center from customers and applicable insurance companies
9. Must be punctual in attendance
10. Must be present during normal hours of operation or as directed by management

The Collision Center Body Technician is responsible for repairing vehicles to industry standards.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Analyze repair order and inspect damaged vehicle for own assessment
2. Report discrepancies or new items to Production Manager and Estimator
3. Comply with scheduling of repairs with other applicable personnel
4. Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders
5. Repair panels per industry standards
6. Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills, using wrenches and cutting equipment
7. Bolt and weld replacement parts in position, using wrenches or welding equipment
8. File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
9. Aim headlights, align body panels
10. Repair or replace defective mechanical parts
11. Review all repairs for quality control
12. Must be punctual in attendance
13. Must be present during normal hours of operation or as directed by management
14. Perform any other duties that are deemed essential to fulfill the functions of the position
