MaGie Miniature Painting
Miniature Painting by Maartje Giesbers. Hi everyone! I am a (female) miniature painter from the Netherlands.
On this page I like to share my works, inspirations, links and more. If you like my paintjobs and want to keep up with my latest projects please "like" the page so you can always be on top of things :)
Scale Model Challenge 2023 has been another incredibly succesful event. It's always a blast to have plenty of talks about miniatures, engulf myself in viewing amazing artworks, buy stuff, and most importantly to meet (new) friends π
I have to many people to thank, you know who you are!!
Here are the pieces which helped me win a silver medal in the Ambient Master category and a gold medal in the Small Scale Master category.
In reality, both figures are 38mm from head to toe π
Hi everyone! After a short painting break, I can share my latest paintjob π. This is the Lost Princess from Kingdom Death As you might know, I like naming my ladies π. I have decided to call her Delythia. I hope you like her π€
Hi everyone,
It was about time! I can finally say that I painted a bust π I'm happy to share my latest work with you, this lovely lady from Inu Kingdoms. It was a lot of fun working in a different scale, I learned a lot and I cannot wait to continue on this journey! Looking forward to your thoughts!

Getting close to the finish line for this lovely lady. It has been a real pleasure to paint this as a smaller project to get back to a relaxed mindset during painting. Definitely worked, I would say π
Hello all!
Today I have been making some progress on this lovely girl.
I was struggling with the eyes, as you might see. Had to repaint the entire face π, this is the second attempt. I much prefer when eyes are sculpted with less details: without lower eyelids it's so much better to paint. Especially when the eyes are so freaking tiny. Might revisit them a bit later on, but I'm pretty happy with the rest of the face π
Lately, I haven't been in the mood for painting. But, after a great time during a private coaching session that I taught last week, I definitely got back the itch π.
These are my humble beginnings on this lovely sculpt from Kingdom Death.
Finally, I can show you my entry for the Kingdom Death pinup painting competition.
This is my take on the Pinup Mountain Dungeon Armor, that I have named "Evera the Mountaineer". I was so thrilled to be placed third amongst such amazing entries π.
After the deadline, I have added some nasty critters to add to the scene, which is why these pics differ a bit from the contest pics. I hope you like her π.

Hi everyone!
After a short painting hiatus, I'm happy to share my latest finished piece. This is Frigan, 35mm Barbarian lady from Mandragore Workshop. What a delight to paint this lovely sculpt π₯°. I hope you like the end result!
Hi everyone! After a few more painting sessions, this is the current state of this lovely lady from Mandragore Workshopπ
I added the left arm temporarily for the picture, to show she does have one π
Hi everyone!
I realized I had not posted this here yet. I finished this paint job this June. This is the 35mm version of the Egyptian Priestess from the Order of Chtulhu line from Michael Kontraros Collectibles . I named her Amunyidhra.
I hope you like her π

Hi everyone, here's an update on this Barbarian girl. I decided to go for traditional Barbarian colours her, why change something that works so wellπ. She's starting to come more alive, I think. I cannot wait to continue this model, she's really a joy to paint!
Hi everyone, here is my new project. In this picture, you can see the result after the first and second session of painting skin to show the difference glazes and additional blending can make. And a painted face of courseπ
I prefer to have multiple sessions when painting skin, as this means I need to mix some paints again and this creates more interesting tones, I think. Her upper body still needs some work, then it's time for tattoos π
Time for another update on my upside-down-lady π
Now that the larger surfaces are done, it's time for painting details π. I spent quite a lot of time on the lantern, getting the reflections right, making it look like a light. Do you think it works?
Hi everyone!
Here is the result after a few more painting sessions. I'm quite satisfied with the result so far, and looking forward to start working on the base also π
Hi everyone! I needed some time to decide on my next project, but here she is π.
This is such an interesting challenge to paint her upside down, I love it! This is a very early WIP of the Pinup mountain dungeon armor from Kingdom Death
Hi everyone!
I painted this project a year ago, but it was to remain a secret until now... The release of the Girl Power book π. It's a unique project of me and 7 wonderful ladies, produced by AK-Interactive.
In the article I wrote you can find my step-by-step progress for painting this miniature, as well as my thoughts and considerations in the process.
Thanks to these power ladies for making this happen β€οΈ. I'm incredibly honored to be part of this!

Hi everyone! It's been a while, but finally I can show you my latest completed piece. This is a lovely lady from Kingdom Death.
I had great fun painting her, and the scene π
Hope you like it!
A few more polishing touching on this lady, and that will be it for the main body!
Before I will attach her arms, I will likely work on the base. That way, I can finish the paintjob with everything assembled and hopefully that will keep things whole π
Unlike her arm right arm before, which has broken off...
With a clearer idea of the base I want to make for this girl, I had fresh inspiration to (almost) finalize the paintjob. Still needs some minor tweaks, but I'm quite happy! What do you think?
So here's proof that I also worked on her backside π.
I felt like painting some freehand, so why not? I still need to refine some areas, but overall the paintjob is pretty far along.
Hope you have a great day π
Hi everyone!
Time for more progress on this cool sculpt from Michael Kontraros miniatures.
She's pretty tiny, so the details are incredibly small and challenging, I love it π. On her left hip, you can already see a preview of the freehand on her dress π
I hope you like it!
Back at more target practice with the airbrush π.
I started this model before, but wiped her as I was not satisfied with the results. I'm trying to find my way to switch between painting with brush and airbrush. Getting the matching colours is harder than it seemed. Slowly getting there, I hope π.
The picture is a little bit more orange than the real paintjob, but she's a healthy gal π
