We had the pleasure to have Emily back in class during the October school holidays to make this beautiful Halloween 🎃 inspired cushion. She came with a specific idea to make a neutral kind of vibe and we helped her create it. We absolutely love it 🥰! Well done 👍 She will also be making a second one soon.

From stains to flower 🌸 power ! Had so much fun saving this pair of jeans that was heavily stained 😂. Lots of reflection is always needed to decide on which method to use to cover stains but this one ended up into a flower power vibe. You also sometimes find yourself get carried away and decide to put 3 flowers on the back pocket to tie the vibe together. These flowers were applied using the free motion sewing technique on our Elna Excellence 680+ machine. Want to learn more about free motion sewing and what else you can do with it ? Make sure to sign up to our weekly lessons open to all levels 💪. We teach you the passion of sewing from the heart ❤️ !

I am so proud to be posting more outstanding work by my wonderful students, this time by Jo. ❤️Very keen to explore new techniques, she came to us with this wonderful fabric that she wanted to make new settee cushion covers for. As there was not enough she decided to recycled the back of the old cushions and paired these up onto the new ones for the backings. We introduced Jo to FREE MOTION QUILTING in our classes , which is such a great feature that is often overlooked, unknown and not discovered by many that own a sewing machine. So this was a brand new technique for her to master and this off course comes with challenges. In free motion quilting mode the machine does not feed the fabric forward! You can actually see in the first video that Jo is still pivoting her work thru old habits but then after lots of practice Jo gets hold of the free motion movements as she got better and better using quilting gloves.
Mixing up decorative stitches and free motion quilting by outlining the shapes turns out to be a super combo ! We were so amazed with the transformation to the fabric giving it lots more depth and interest and they really look like show stoppers on the sofa !
Well done Jo ! We love them and are so grateful that we could teach you this new technique.

Stunning machine & hand quilted cushion covers with matching place sets made by Sabine who was inspired by Indian Kantha techniques. She machine quilted her own fabric in straight rows & hand stitched a running stitch between the rows using embroidery thread. She finished off the placemat with bias tape which was another new technique that she added to her learning skills. With the left over fabric she made a table cloth with mitered edges. Well done Sabine for your efforts and patience on this because it looks amazing !

Our hats go off to Kate for making this gorgeous self-patched and then self-quilted jacket that is so on trend ! She started and finished this project in our classes and has become a real dedicated student that works hard in and between classes to expand & explore her creativity.
Kate decided to make her own fabric through a square patchwork method using left overs from previous projects and then quilted the sandwich of layers together with wadding and lining. Only then the construction of sewing the jacket together could start. We love how you chose the navy binding to finish the edges, the navy tied it together perfectly.🥰❤️
For this kind of project you need lots of patience and perseverance but the outcome speaks for itself- we love your one -of-a-kind jacket ❤️made by you for you. 💃well done ✅!!!!
We are so proud of you !

Intrigued by quilting ? This project was so much fun to create. It started off with the eight point star quilt block which consists of squares that you cut in 2 to make triangles ! As simple as that ! Then comes the mind boggling assembly. For this the world around you definitely has to switch off as you will need full concentration. This is such a wonderful project for beginners as it requires only straight lines but lots of accuracy, and you can simply work with woven left - over scraps. After the star was done I simply let my creativity flow with no set plan and it became a bag, using the star as a pocket detail. (You do not always need to have a fixed plan when you start to sew.) I had made the star some time back and wanted to integrate it in a less traditional quilt throw. Very happy with it ! 😍Quilting can be done in several ways. You can quilt in blocks to create fun visual features using small scraps or you can quilt your own fabric by layering top and bottom with padding and then sewing through the layers using a machine stitch or try your hand at free motion. We love to explore these many different techniques in our classes and are so happy so many of our students have taken a liking to these techniques, and are creating beautiful projects !
Naver couture restart classes next week and are are so much looking forward to seeing you back soon as we have missed you !!!! ❤️❤️❤️ 🇨🇭

Did you know that we repair and service all domestic brand sewing machines, overlockers, cover stitch and embroidery machines ? So how does it work ? Here are some answers to the typical questions we get asked. 1. How often should I service my sewing machine ? If you sew 5-8 hours per week you should service your machine 1 x per year. If you sew every so often making small projects and mending - service every 2 years. 2. How much does it cost ? Depending on the model type of your machine, a service cost starts at 120 CHF and a repair as a average can cost 270CHF. Your individual machine will be analyzed by a professional technician and a quote will be communicated to you before the repair / service. A 60 CHF deposit is required. 3. How do I book my machine in ? You can call us on 079 290 46 65 or use our booking link on our insta bio / or website https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule/be9f3008/appointment/20572012/calendar/5138290?appointmentTypeIds%5B%5D=20572012. 4. Where are we located ? We are located in Aubonne, a beautiful village 40 mins from Geneva and 20 mins from Lausanne. Parking places conveniently available at drop off. Summer is a perfect time to get a service done to ensure smooth operation of your machine for years to come. We speak both English and French.
