*_WEIJA-GBAWE MP HOLDS MASSIVE GENERAL HEALTH SCREENING AND FREE NHIS AT GONSE AND SCC_ .*

Yesterday, Saturday October 25, 2023, the lawmaker who doubles as deputy health minister, Hon. Tina Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah at the mega health screening and free NHIS registration held at SCC and Gonse-Agape respectively remarked that, it is imperative for all to have regular check up to avert possible ailments that could lead to death. This she said, should be a must for all.

In related interview, she underscored the importance of good health and said, it is on the back of the importance of good health that she is organizing free health screening with free medication and free NHIs registrations for as many as possible to get screened and enrolled onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.

In a chit chat with some constituents and party members that had gathered to be screened and acquire the free NHIS, they expressed their joy at the fantastic initiative championed by the lawmaker.

The free screening and NHIS continues unabated in subsequent weeks to get a large number of constituents screened and registered onto the NHIS.

So far a total of 1,828 constituents including party members have been enrolled onto the NHIS. This is made of registrations done on 21st and 25th November, 2023.

Also, a total of 912 constituents including party members per the records were screened on 21st and 25th November, 2023 respectively on various life threatening conditions.

_Major works have commenced on Borla Road in the Mallam East Electoral Area since last Friday, September 9, 2023._

_The works continues today to prepare the very bad road ahead of Butimen to the applied in coming weeks._

_This works answer the concerns put before the MP-Tina Mensah by residents of the said community._

_*MCE,MP COMMISSIONS 2 NUMBER 8 SANITARY FACILITIES WITH TWO(2) WATER RESERVOIRS AT OBLOGO CLUSTRER OF SCHOOLS*_

Hon. Tina Naa Ayele Mensah Member of Parliament for Weija Gbawe in the company of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor and the Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Madam Vida Awuku yesterday commissioned two number eight sanitary facilities at the OBLOGO cluster of schools.

The project whose sod was cut three (3) years ago had come to a standstill prior to its commissioning after the Member of Parliament’s persistent push at the contractors, GAMA.

In her speech, Hon. Tina Naa Ayele Mensah expressed joy at the completion of the project and also promised to give the school a facelift through some renovations which will begin shortly.

Hon. Kumor also thanked the contractors for their work and advised the staff and students to adopt a strict maintenance culture to always make sure the facility is in good shape.

The project is a (Two number 8) seater sanitary facilities with two polytank water reservoirs for both Males and Females

In attendance at the commissioning was the Assemblyman of the Area, Hon. Sankofi, some Traditional leaders, staff and students of the school.

_*TETTEGU LINK ROADS RECEIVE BITUMEN*_

Link roads within the Tettegu community in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality has received layers of bitumen (First coat).

The 4.5km stretch of road is coming with drains to enhance the flow of water which has over the years affected the state of the roads in the community.

Residents in the following areas whose road construction stalled has been repackaged and contractors will move to the site in the coming months They are:
*MALLAM BORLA ROAD*
*CHOICE ROAD*
*ONIPA YE BAD*
*ASHBREAD*

The following roads also in the Municipality will be given some attention in the coming months

_Djanman_
_Broadcasting road at New Weija_
_C-Connie_
_Sunny Coast and Maya roads_

_WEIJA-GBAWE MP PRESENTS CASH AND ITEMS TO 13 MUSLIM COMMUNITIES IN WGC_

The tenacious and magnanimous sitting member of parliament, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah yesterday, 13th of April, 2023 presented undisclosed cash amount and items to our brothers and sisters of the Islamic faith as part of her Holy support towards the course of Muslims in the month Ramadan and the period of fasting.

The items presented were, cartons of milk in large quantities, cartons of tin of milo,bags of rice and sugar, cartons of Lipton, boxes of water, among others.

The items mentioned were received on behalf of their Muslim brothers and sisters by Imams and their representatives from the 13 Zongo communities and central mosques in the constituency.

During the presentation, the lawmaker appreciated the contribution of the Zongo communities in the constituency and sang praises of their efforts in bringing the constituency this far.

Imam Iddrisu, head of the MicCarthy Central
Mosque, who spoke on behalf of all the 13 imams and representatives of the Zongo communities, thanked the law maker for the kind gesture and said MP, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah has done so much for the constituency which deserves a thumb up.

He said, he is glad in his heart and spirit that the Member of Parliament would run the seat till she is tires and could not run again. These were his words to attest to the good works of the MP.

The Imam reiterated that, the MP presented the items at a very good time because, the 10 days period left to complete the fast is very critical and important in that history of the Ramadan. He asked the blessing of the Almighy Allah, on the MP and entire constituents.

The hardworking Membe of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah in her words, remarked that she has been providing her benevolence in support of the Muslim communities since the very time she became an MP, therefore the kind gesture extended, was one of her many support to the Muslim communities.

The Member of Parliament, was assisted by some constituency executives, coordinators and party members to carry out the donation.

𝑾𝑬𝑰𝑱𝑨-𝑮𝑩𝑨𝑾𝑬 𝑴𝑷 𝑺𝑼𝑷𝑷𝑶𝑹𝑻𝑺 𝑬𝑳𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑶𝑹𝑨𝑳 𝑨𝑹𝑬𝑨 𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑱𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑺 𝑾𝑰𝑻𝑯 𝑮𝑯𝑪 110,000.00.

_Earlier today, Tuesday, 21st March 2023, the tenacious Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah supported 11 Electoral Area projects with a cheque sum of Ghc110,000.00_

The amount which was made available from the MP’s common fund was advanced to meet a request put in by the 11 assembly members to under projects in their respective Electoral Areas.

The Electoral Areas that benefited from the laudable initiative are Mallam West and East, MicCarthy North and East, New Weija West and East, Gbawe West and East, New Gbawe, Djaman, and Oblogo.

The presentation of the cheque amount was done at the Municipal Cheif Executive’s Office. The all time Chief Executive for WGMA, Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor applauded the gesture put out by the hardworking Member of Parliament for the constituency. He advised the Assembly Members to use the sum for the intended project as indicated in their request filed to the Member of Parliament.

Tettegu Electoral Area, among the 14 Electoral Areas has had its share of the developmental cake. The Electoral Area can boast of the construction of an ultramodern Clinic with auxiliary facilities and the construction of a 12-unit classroom block with institutional toilets. These projects are in different stages of construction.

Weija Electoral Area can also boast of a K.G. block with a playground, and the construction of a Science-Based Senior High School with 4.2-kilometer inner road network to link to the school.

Currently, Gonse Electoral Area is receiving a facelift through the construction of an ultramodern Clinic with auxiliary facilities. Gonse down community has witnessed a sod cutting ceremony for the construction of a police and basic school.

The Electoral Area can boast of a 13 unit classroom block with toilet facilities constructed to serve the people of Gonse and Agape environ.

The support offered in cash by the Member of parliament for Weija-Gbawe constituency is meant to ensure equitable distribution of development and resources.

The hardworking lawmaker who doubles as deputy health minister, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah assured all of her unflinching support towards the growth of communities in her constituency.

*Weija-Gbawe To Get a Business Resource Centre*

The Weija-Gbawe municipality will soon have an ultramodern office complex to house its Business Resource Centre.

At a colourful sod cutting ceremony on Monday, 13th March 2023 to commence the construction of the building, the Chief of New Awoshie, Nii Kwarkei lll, who stood in for the Gbawe mantse, and Mr. Solomon Afutu Quartey, Stool Secretary, both embraced the initiative and reiterated their commitment to provide land for more developmental projects.

They acknowledged the giant strides taken by the Municipal Assembly, led by Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE), and the push from the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Tina Mensah, since the inception of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.

The Member of Parliament (MP) in a short address, thanked the chiefs for their magnanimity and stressed the need for all to put their shoulders to the wheel of development in the municipality.

Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE), while handing over the site to the consultant, AESL, asked that the youth in the community be engaged in the construction of the building.

The Assembly Member for the Gbawe West Electoral Area, Hon. Samuel Quaye and a member of the residents' association, Mr. Emmanuel Allotey, while embracing the project, pleaded that a social centre be attached to the building to serve the social needs of the community.

The Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Andrew Oppong Amoako and the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Madam Vida Awuku, heads of departments and staff of the Municipal Assembly were present.

Mr. Ofori-Attah, the District Manager of the BRC, during the vote of thanks, said the office complex is one out of sixty-seven (67) being built nationwide.

He assured all present of his outfit's commitment to continue to resource the youth of the municipality.

The construction of the two storey edifice would be completed in six (6) calendar months by NickSeth Construction Company.

_Hon. Tina Mensah & Hon. Patrick Kumor donate items to PWDs_

Earlier today, the Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Gbawe Constituency who doubles as Deputy Health Minister, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayeley Mensah and Hon. Patrick K.B. Kumor, Municipal
Chief Executive for Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, in a collaboration effort donated items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to twenty (20) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

_These twenty (20) PWDs were drawn from various parts of the Municipality to receive the items._

_They were presented with chest freezers, fridges, ‘provisions’, bags of onions, undisclosed cash amount, vehicle lubricants, laptops, and sewing machines with their accessories. Other PWDs also received cash to pay their schoo fees._

_The MP and the MCE advised PWDs to take proper care of the items presented to them and to make meaningful life out of them._

_The PWDs were happy to receive the items from the MP and the MCE._

_Deputy Health Minister pays working visit to the National Secretariat of GHAFTRAM_

The indefatigable Deputy Health Minister who doubles as the 2 term law maker for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah I’m Tuesday 13th September, 2022 paid a working visit to the Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practioners Association (GHAFTRAM).

The purpose of the visit at the Association’s National Secretariat was to familiarize with the operations of GHAFTRAM and to assess if the Association’s mode of operations conform with modern practices which guarantee the safety of the Ghanaian.

While at the Association’s National secretariat, at SCC in Accra, the National Secretary, Nana Kwadwo Obiri said GHAFTRAM has huge membership base across the length and breath of the country with over 70 traditional medicines approved by the Food and Drugs Authority and by extension the Ministry of Health.

He conducted the Deputy Minister round the secretariats to assess its approved, and yet to be approved medicines.

The Deputy Health Minister, Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah was impressed with the work of the Association and advised the Association to ensure that due processes are followed at times to get the local medicines approved before being administered to patients that visit their registered herbal centers.

She was happy that the secretariat is within her constituency.

_Weija-Gbawe MP supports, man, age 51 years_.

On Tuesday 13th of September 2022, the magnanimous lawmaker who doubles as Deputy Health Minister,Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah supported a man she has longed anticipated to meet after the 2020 elections.

The picture of the man, age 51, known in real life as Mr. Kwesi Mensah and popularly known by many as ‘Kwesi Manhole’, was posted on social media holding a placard displaying the image of the MP and the President in a campaign ahead of the 2020 elections.

His unwavering love for the NPP and the MP caught the admiration and generosity of the Lawmaker, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah to locate him.

‘Kwesi Manhole’ a constituents of Weija-Gbawe, does not have a place he calls a home, therefore after his daily hustle to get food and water, he sleeps in front of a shop at SCC High Tension Area; a community in the constituency.

‘Kwesi Manhole’ after several attempts to locate him came to fruition today. He was met looking improperly dressed to suggest he is really going through difficult times.

In a chit chat with the man, he admitted that his love for the MP is unconditional, hence his unflinching passion and zeal to see her win the 2020 Parliamentary election. “I know you have a good heart for everyone, that is why I campaigned vehemently for you at my own will” the man emphasized.

“I have seen the picture of you campaigning for me and our president in the 2020 electioneering period and that has caught my attention to locate you and be a blessing in your life”, the lawmaker expressed.

The lawmaker, who also doubles as Deputy Health Minister under the current solid administration of the NPP from her own purse gave a cash donation of Ghc2,000, a brand new mattress, 2 buckets, mosquito nets and other things as her widows mite to support the man.

‘Kwesi Manhole’ as commonly known was delighted by the kind gesture extended to him by the generous lawmaker.

The Lawmaker seized the opportunity to exchange pleasantries with all who had gathered to catch a glimpse of her kind gesture.

NEWS UPDATE!!

*'Make Good Use Of Govt Support,' MCE of WGMA*

Twenty-one (21) persons living with disabilities (PWDs) in the Weija-Gbawe municipality, have benefitted from the District Assembly’s Common Fund (DACF).

The beneficiaries received the items at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly on Friday, 26th August 2022.

The items they received included chest freezers, bales of clothing, an oven and gas cylinder, footwear for sale and a total amount of GH¢ 2500, amongst other things.

Speaking to the beneficiaries during a brief ceremony, Mrs. Nancy Pertey, the Municipal Social Welfare Director, urged them to make good use of the ítems, to better their lives. She added that the items must be handled and managed with care.

Mr. Joshua Addey, a committee member of the Disabled Association also acknowledged the government’s helping hand, lent to the association members.

The MCE, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor also admonished the beneficiaries that managing the current supports offered would guarantee more grants from the government.

Hon. Kumor (MCE) presented the beneficiaries with the items.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their joy and thanked the government for extending a helping hand to them.

They promised to put the items to good use for the betterment of their lives and that of the nation.

It is yet another moment to celebrate Eid-Ul-Adha in the life of the Islamic faith.

It is always a period to commemorate the sacred sacrifice Ibrahim offered with his son(Ismail) to Almighty Allah. It is indeed a Holy sacrifice.

As our brothers and sisters mark this day in a special way, we plead the blessing of the Almighty Allah on each and everyone.

We enjoin all, to be decorous and moderate in the course of celebration so as to have incident free Eid-Ul-Adha.

_Hon. Tina Mensah commissions 393 EMTS at a Passing Out Parade held last Thursday at PECTS, Nkenkensu in Ashanti Region._

On Thursday 30th June 2022, the Deputy Health Minister with a responsibility and capacity as the Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah commissioned the 11th batch of the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) at a passing out ceremony held at the Paramedic and Emergency Care Training School (PECTS) at Nkenkensu in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

As the reviewing Officer, she received presidential salute on behalf of the President and inspected the parade which was beautifully put together by the passing out EMTs.

At the same ceremony, she out-doored the new Camouflage and Regimental band of the National Ambulance Service.

In attendance at the ceremony were high profile dignatories in the persons of Hon. Alhaji Mahama, Deputy Health Minister, Prof Dr. Ahmed Nuhu Zakaria, CEO of National Ambulance Service, CEO of Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Directors of NAS, Hon. Collins Ntim, the Member of Parliament for Offinso North Constituency and also Deputy Minster for Local Government,

Others were, the Ag. President of the Offinso Traditinal Council, Army Commander in charge of the Central Command, Officers of the Police, fire and National Ambulamce Service officers, and the Ashanti Regional Minister ably represented by the DCE of Offinso North.

Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah was accompany by the Presiding Member for Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Andy Oppong Amoako to grace the historic ceremony.

At the ceremony, the reviewing Officer, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah, under whose charge NAS falls , was delighted to be part of the EMTs Batch 11 passing out parade.

She advised the newly passed out EMTs to exhibit good behavior and professionalism in the course of executing their duties for mother Ghana.

She congratulated, the newly trained EMTs and charge them to be assets to the state rather than a burden.
