Animal Rescue Center of Shawnee’s goal is to eliminate unwanted animals from the Shawnee, OK area.
We match animals who were once unwanted with people who need a friend and family member. We aim to match animals and owners so both are happy and healthy.

SWEET 1 YEAR OLD FEMALE, LAB MIX.
Had puppies, has had shots and is spayed.
Very good with children, other dogs and farm animals.
She was rescued from the OKC animal welfare several weeks ago.
She is very well mannered and loves attention.

PEPE the 2yr old chihuahua.
FOR THOSE OF YOU FOLLOWING PEPE, the spotted chihuahua's surgery for pelvic plate, he has been on the mend. However, the leg that was healing has a bad socket and will need to be removed and not replaced. He should be able to walk after recovery. He is ok for now, but holds his right rear leg up when running.
The surgery will be around $1000 and ARC is asking for donations to fund this surgery.
We are also taking applications for his adoption, if you would like to adopt prior to surgery or after, please let us know.

ARC will be giving away kittens at a local garage, estate, sale Thursday and a Friday! The kittens have all been altered and had shots! The estate sale has auto parts, supplies, furniture and household items! The property is also for sale!

ARC is at Cavender Subaru in Norman, already 2 adoptions! No cats but all cats and kittens free Today Only if you call Kay to book appt later this week! 10 dogs, $50 adoption fee includes altering and shots! Freedom will not be adopted today but he is here greeting everyone!

German Shepherd mama and 6 pups need to be rescued before euthanization from abandoned home. I am desperately trying to get help for a momma dog and 6 babies that were abandoned at a home after their owner went to prison in Carney, OK. They appear to be German Shepard mixed and they are quite thin. I understand that the authorities there are planning to have them euthanized very soon if there is nowhere for them to go. I have already contacted numerous other rescues with no luck. I know this is a huge ask, but if there is any way you can help please let me know ASAP. I really don't think they have much time. PET SMART is have a SHOT CLINIC on Sept. 4th in Shawnee store from 10-11. Check with them on the cost. Great opportunity to get those much needed shots.
ARC volunteered to drive 11 (Doberman mix pups) to Ft. Gibson PawpinPup.com, a sister site and sponsor of Kallas Kove Kats n K9 Rescue and Foster this past Saturday. The pups are about 11 weeks old and already over 30 lb. They were in great shape and will be cared for in Ft. Gibson until they make their way to Maine in two weeks. LUCKY DOGS!!!
