The little things in life do matter the most.
Yesterday was a day where I was doubting how I’d get through the day. The last several days were painful leading up to my period and now that it’s here…I’m dealing with the following:
•extreme fatigue (that yerbamate and regular coffee combined didn’t do much)
•bloating and swelling…everywhere.
•lack of appetite
•several days of lack of sleep and disrupted sleep
•brain fog 😶🌫️
•tight and tense back, shoulders and neck
•low back and abdominal cramping
•heavy legs
Aaaaand I have the following to be grateful for:
•remote work 🙌🏽
•working from the comfort of my home and couch and cozy blanket
•able to rest my legs up on pillows while working
•ability to lay down and work
•access to clean drinking water as I get Uber dehydrated while on period
•having comfortable and close access to the bathroom to take care of heavy flow
•sustainable period products
•all the support supplements that has made my luteal/pms less painful than usual 🙏🏼 Thank you !

November 11th is on the horizon:
“Magic 11/11! On the 11th day of the 11th month, the angel number 1111 is activated. 1111 can mean different things for different people. Some people associate it with a loved one or with a special memory. If you see 11:11 often, it is generally a sign that you are on the right path. Seeing 11:11 can also be a friendly hello from your guardian angels or spirit guides. It is a magical number that can also indicate manifestation, and that what you are asking for is coming your way. You can use the energy of this day for manifestation and gratitude work, or to honor whatever makes this number pattern special for you!”
Whenever I see 11:11, I am reminded of the angels 👼 my mother and ancestors have placed in my life. It’s also a reminder for me to pause and practice gratitude for all that I have in my life. 💗 (We miss you .riner 😭😭😭)

Goodbye October 👋🏼 Hello November
I don’t do advanced inversions often as it isn’t in my present practice but when there’s a right time—I def join in on theme of the party 🎃
And it was good reminder that when something seems scary—take a breath, trust in your strength and fly! 🐦⬛

💃🏻 🪩, ❤️, 🎶 🎤, 😌
Took 2 classes this week. It’s honestly my favorite workout. It’s low impact, strengthens and tones with a focus on all the muscles in the pelvic region that are sensitive/protective/tight and weak. I was in a pretty negative head space for the moment I woke up until class this afternoon—obsessive thinking Aka PMDD and after class-I felt better.
Ashley is always so welcoming at the front desk on and Jen is an awesome instructor! I took her class twice this week and loved the variations of exercises to “lift, tone and burn.” 💪🏼 🔥 🩰
Today was really challenging because I was super inflamed and I did what I could, still broke a sweat and it showed me where my body was today which is always a good check for me to understand how I really feel and what I need to do the rest of the day to support myself.
I am grateful to have access to these studio classes and the best part is that I feel so inspired when I am working out with women of all backgrounds, age groups and abilities. With that said barre is not a “female” workout—men take class too!
Thank you always !
Santosha or 'contentment' doesn't mean idly sitting back and relinquishing the need to do anything. It simply means accepting and appreciating what we have and what we are already, and moving forwards from there.
Traveling in comfort. 😌
My Go-To Travel Outfit:
• Lululemon All Your’s Tee—comfy and simple.
• Costco Cotton Hoodie—so cheap —I think this sweatshirt was $10! It’s soft and warm + great for layering.
• Lululemon On The Fly Joggers—so roomy to give my legs and belly room when I swell on and off throughout the day + cool to the touch.
• Lululemon Belt Bag—SO convenient to carry all the little things.
• Brooks Tennis Shoes-incredibly comfortable and supportive.
• Aluminum water bottle-to refill my water throughout the airports to stay hydrated!
• Lululemon Bookbag—hold any laptop, snacks, phone charger etc..

2022 has been a year of major transitions.
Reflecting back—I’m reminded of how we are supposed to shift through transitions and change just like the seasons here in the mid-Atlantic. And remember too much change good and bad can be overly stressful. A little stress that always comes with change good or bad is actually healthy for us. But if it’s above a certain level than it is no beuno.
So, as we walk into the holiday weekend—do what brings you peace and slow down.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year-all!

Sometimes there’s nothing like being under these orange lights with one of the most fun and greatest coaches with !
Here’s how I schedule my OTF works outs:
Follicular phase week: 2 workouts
Ovulation phase going into Luteal phase: 2 workouts.
I’m at the beginning of my luteal and thought I’d have a hard time with the treads and row machine but surprisingly I had more energy and power 💥 in me! So, I’m guessing I’m coming off of my ovulation phase and going into luteal. My back is hurting more and more each day so I def know I’m moving into luteal phase.
Next week’s workout focus will be strength 🏋️♂️ !
💛

Working out consistently has been a pretty big battle since I stopped being a full-time in person yoga teacher (March 2018) and definitely post op (Nov 2018).
Different exercises work for me sharing different times of my cycle. During my ovulation phase I have more energy to do workouts like Orange Theory Fitness.
What works for me during this phase is going to a 1-hr studio class, led by an awesome coach with 👌🏼 tunes 🎶!
I need and love the direction and amplified music. It helps me to stay in the pocket of enjoying the workout!
Even though I did have back pain during the workout—I slowed down when I needed to and overall it felt better after.
Thank you and for always providing an energetic and positive workout environment! 💥 💪🏼 🏃♀️

Last week for lunch I was all about the Chicken Cesar wraps!
I boiled a whole chicken and then pulled the meat up, seasoned it with salt and pepper and chilled it at the begging of the week.
Come lunch time—I combined the chicken, romaine lettuce 🥬 (washed of course), non-dairy Cesar dressing, dairy free Parmesan cheese shreds, salt and pepper and tossed it to mix well. Served on warm Gf tortilla!

Last week as I eased off of my menstrual cycle-I stuck to lighter movements and walked a lot.
This week as I glide through my follicular and ovulation phase—I tend to have more energy to burn 🔥 so I took an OTF class which was also Day 1 of Hell Week ☠️. Woo!! What a workout!
So, my legs felt heavy and I wasn’t able to power up like I thought I was going to be able to do. But today I wasn’t quite there and I still got through it!
It’s always nice to do a body check-in with workouts. It lets me know what my next day’s movement will look like. 💪🏼
And having an accountability buddy aka my brother with an awesome coach and good times + The Group Project workout?!! What a way to star t the week! 💥
Switched up my breakfast routine this week. During my follicular and ovulation phase I crave lighter and fresher foods so this week’s breakfast is a Mango Basil Coconut 🥥 protein shake! 🍹

Calling Endo-warriors! 📣
Join me this week for my first Community Yoga for Endo class!
Yoga for Endo aka Yoga for Pelvic Health is a specialty yoga that focuses on relaxing the pelvic floor muscles, hip and low back area. It also focuses both on relaxing and toning. Pain usually means that the muscles are weak and in order to get these muscles to a place where they can be strengthened—we need to release and relax them first.
Some benefits you can expect from this class:
💛 Relaxation of mind and body
💛 Lessen intensity of pelvic/hip/low back pain
💛 Helps bowel movement
💛 Learn special breathing technique to help relax pelvic floor muscles that you can do everyday
💛 Connect with other Endowarriors
I’m hosting this class every month for the rest of 2022 and hope that you will join me!
If you also know someone that can benefit from this class-please share my post!

I prefer exercising in the AM but my schedule did not allow this today. So, I took a 5:30pm class. I was rushing to class and felt so bloated/still digesting from lunch and even though I wasn’t loving the workout because of how I was feeling—I reminded myself to celebrate what my body could do and the will and energy I had to even get myself to class.
I didn’t get the recommended 12 splat points and I am okay with that.
It feels like my body is moving into its luteal phase Aka intense pms phase. My low back has been increasingly tender/painful as the days have gone by this week and so, I took it easy.
I still got a sweat in. I worked my heart ♥️.
It’s hard enough to be consistent with moving my body living with endometriosis and chronic pain and chronic inflammation which is why it helps when you have guidance and coaching and AWESOME tunes! Thank you Coach Brad!! 💥
The pandemic provided an opportunity for me to finally find my niche as a yoga teacher after 8 years of teaching!
I’ve had the privilege of studying yoga for pelvic health and rebranded Yoga by Kate Shin to Endoyogi.
Endoyogi.com was created to support the endometriosis community to share my story and resources that have helped me along my journey this far. Moreover, I am excited to focus my teaching on yoga for Endo and to bring back my New Moon Yin and Full Moon Restorative classes that were such a hit during the early stages of the pandemic. All of these styles of yoga are for beginners and all levels. The goal is to relax your body and nervous system. Most postures will be seated or on your belly/back.

The best part? You can join me and your fellow yogis from the comfort of your own home via Zoom!
