Blessings to each of you as our new year begins.
WIth much reverence please know that we have another angel in heaven watching over us. Our beloved sister, past president Rubielee Addison passed away on December 30th, 2021.
The King Funeral Home states her funeral arrangements are pending at this time. A link to the King Funeral Home at 416 Old Charlotte Road Southwest, Concord, North Carolina 28027 ( #980-777-8013) is below. A beautiful photo of Rubielee is posted. You are encouraged to send condolences to the family at this site.
Rubielee most recently lived with her daughter Maudre at 5302 Montague Street, Apartment 5, Charlotte, North Carolina 28205 ( #864-356-0479 or #704-537-7034).
Many of you might share a recent memory of Rubielee at our 47th SCCUMW Annual Meeting at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, Greenville in October 2019. She joined our other past presidents on Saturday's program and smiled all day long, in response to your many smiles and joy upon seeing her there with Maudre. A wonderful photo graces the cover of our Program Book that year.
Please shower Rubielee's family with prayer and love during this time of loss. We share in missing our friend, a great voice and champion for United Methodist Women across the world.
Thank you to sisters Marlene Spencer and Beth Addis for alerting me to this news and providing details. We remain a "community of women".
I am showing you my distribution. Please share as you wish. Prayers are requested.
peace,
Cathy Ford

FAITH * HOPE * LOVE IN ACTION
From the beginning, United Methodist Women members have led the way in countless endeavors. Our membership is comprised of women from all backgrounds and experiences, compelled by their Christian faith to serve and lead in places near and far and in ways never imagined.
This includes tutoring children and youth in after-school programs, volunteering at community food pantries, teaching Bible Study in churches, visiting the infirmed in hospitals, advocating against legislation and policies that marginalize women and children, and supporting the 100 National Mission Institutions in the United States and the 107 international organizations in 110 countries that provide a pathway to healthy, productive and empowered living. The reach and presence of United Methodist Women is felt far and wide, efforts having a deep and lasting impact on the lives of women, children and youth each and every day.
This is what distinguishes United Methodist Women from other organizations, and attests to its longevity and relevance, today and especially in the years to come.
