The only original song I have on the streaming services, at the moment, "Trouble Can't Swim", has reached a new high for me on Spotify, of 22 monthly listeners!
Considering that there are around 100 thousand songs uploaded to the platform everyday, I feel good about the count continuing to go up, no matter how slow.

Every Friday, I try to end the last song before sunset at the very moment that the bottom of the sun lines up perfectly with the waterline on the horizon, then I sit down, out of the way, and play an ambient guitar instrumental as the sun sets.
More often than not, I'm early or late, but last night I stuck the landing like a gold medal gymnast...true story; there were hundreds of witnesses.
The week between Christmas and New Year's is about as busy as high season and the New Year's Eve Celebration at the Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe is a preview of the crowds we'll get Friday nights.
Tonight was incredible, with about 400 people and I can't wait til season!

Per the Manatee County Public Library Archives.
In 1952 the Manatee County Public Beach was established on Holmes Beach at the end of Manatee Avenue at Gulf Drive. The beach was managed by the Kiwanis Club of Anna Maria Island and all proceeds went to local charitable initiatives. The beach included a pavilion, screened-in dining area for picnickers, lunch counter, lockers, and a bathhouse.
Today it features lifeguards, playground, and volleyball courts, restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating (famous for all-you-can-eat pancakes), live music every evening, beach shop, and chair and umbrella rentals.
