It’s almost time for the TEXAS Flag Celebration Competition!
Have you been feverishly planning your outdoor décor for this weekend's Texas Flag Celebration competition? Buying all of the red, white and blue flowers at the local nursery to make sure that your spring plantings provide the perfect backdrop? If not, here's a little extra incentive to celebrate Texas' beloved flag and Montgomery's location as the :
Spirit of Texas Bank, in partnership with the City of Montgomery, is donating an additional $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $100 for third place for both the residential and commercial decorating categories!
This brings the totals to $750 for first place, $400 for second place, and $200 for third place. Let's get out there and show our support for the Texas flag! With Texas independence being declared in 1836 we have 186 years of history to celebrate.
The judging will take place on Saturday morning.

The Texas Flag Celebration is happening ON SATURDAY! Started in recognition of Montgomery's place as the , this event is an opportunity for everyone to pull out ALL of their Texas swag and make shine. Just a few days after the anniversary of Texas' Independence it's the perfect weekend to strut your Texas patriotism. The Spirit of Texas Bank has put some pretty impressive flag displays out there over the past few years - use that as inspiration and motivation for your own flag frenzy!

Today we celebrated the dream-come-true for Rachel. Rachel works hard and has long hoped to end her rent payments and own her own home.
Under the Spirit One Loan program these dreams came true and today it was a joy and privilege to see Rachel spend her first Christmas in a home she can call her own.
The program serves our neighbors and helps these dreams come true, and today it is a thrill to be here and see Rachel’s dream become a reality.
Statement from Rachel:
“God is so good. Sometimes I pull up in my driveway and just sit there, thinking about the fact that this really is my home. I always thought being a homeowner was out of my grasp but Spirit of Texas Bank was able to make my dream happen. It’s awesome. I wish they could have seen the smile that was under my mask when I made my first mortgage payment!”

Over 1,200 volunteers placed 21,500 luminaries on the San Jacinto Battlefield, one for each Texan who has died in armed conflict from the Texas Revolution through Afghanistan. Liberty is rare in world history and comes with a heavy price. We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
