It’s with great sadness that we share the passing of one of our longtime Garland partners, Joe Caraballo. Joe was a fixture in our plant for over 33 years. He retired to Florida last year to enjoy his well-deserved retirement. He will be greatly missed.

The unofficial end of summer is here. We look back on the many projects completed this summer and appreciate all the hard work from architects, engineers, facility managers, contractors, vendors, delivery drivers, and of course our fellow employee-owners, who made each job possible.

Today's challenge, ponding water at the drain valley due to drains not being sumped and saddles not installed between drains.

The first step is to identify the existing roof system and its current condition, then pinpoint how Garland can best help. Garland rep Wes Van Autreve and his team took core cuts for a new customer showing a metal deck, with 4" EPS, 2.5" lightweight concrete and 1/2" thick of a two-ply with a modified cap sheet roof system.

In 1974, Mel was among the core group who bought The Garland Company, and through hard work, relentless customer focus, and vision, he helped lay the foundation for one of the most successful ESOPs in the country. By giving the company to the employees that helped build it, Mel and the team established a legacy that will live forever through generations.
