So long, going going gone. 12-31-23.😃🎆
Did this audiobook. Enjoyed the characters. Tough new British detective squad of maybe not the top pick types. Like most Brit police sagas not light but a good read.
Finished reading this today. Despite old technology which can be distracting, this is one of the most suspenseful twists and turns book I have read in a long time. ( copyright 2003)
I have read three books labeled humor-feel good books that have had to do with su***de attempts. I guess a good ending is what is now called feel good. I shall be avoiding this label/category for a while. I’ll stick to nice murder mysteries. 😜
Read or finished I should say, this first week of January. I like a strong protagonist. She was almost exaggerated for the time period but an enjoyable mystery story over all.
Came in at 57 books read in 2022. Do we have any in common? http://ow.ly/nVbQ50MkFKN

Painters in Cervantes plaza today. Let there be art!

This is from one of my favorite books of all time. Happy Reading in the New Year!

So this was a real thing, people in my college would go do. Did you ever?
Just finished reading, The Third Twin, by Ken Follett, Baltimore area, mystery fiction, stand alone, library ebook. It has a copyright of 1996 and I found the descriptions of technology too specific and distracting. I debated if it was even behind the times for when it was written. Some formatting issues in the ebook or editing that caused dialogue to appear without line breaks between the characters speaking at times. That said, I really enjoyed the premise/plot.
When I did research for my book Killed in Kruger, set in South Africa, I read some freaky things about hippos. In the water they are quite territorial and deadly!
Good girl keeping a very close eye on the kitchen activities.
This made me laugh. So true on the highway here in Spain!
What a great breakfast! Napolitana, Pan chocolate, Chocolate croissant, whatever you want to call it. And tea!
Audiobook entertainment today as I putz around today.
How are you in the classic detective reads? I’ve read some of most of these, except Philo Vance, Nigel Strangeways, and Lew Archer. https://crimereads.com/classic-famous-mystery-series-with-very-many-installments-that-youve-always-been-meaning-to-read/?fbclid=IwAR2qA-y8BUenhNa78EIvO3HaWr2h4NhJ5vTK4McumHvfHHlIQVKYaIpxh1Y

So this happened this week. It was nearly a 50/50 reaction! But we’ve laughed over it a lot. Hoping it tips me to not so old. I was not harmed, other than pride.
Just finished this in audio today. I assumed it was fiction but found this fascinating article. https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/international/international-book-news/article/67870-a-look-at-the-hendrik-groen-phenomenon.html

The ides of March. Yes, I entertain myself.
I have not instant potted. My advice would be to wash it. (I did not follow the link). If this is a remote possibility, I will not be joining the club.
