Did you know that play a massive role in ?
You may not even realize how much plastic is in your life and how much you ingest all the time. It might seem hard to believe but plastic does break down into microplastics. That gets into your system through your food, the water you drink and even the air you breathe. What's worse is that you can even get it through your skin by touching heated up plastic😳
I know, right?! That's insane. It kind of blew my mind when I started doing research how much we are exposed to plastics. The whole BPA free movement with plastic bottles started because research started to show that BPA actually mimics estrogen within the body causing all kinds of issues
But that's not all! NOW research is being confirmed to show that plastics actually breakdown our gut lining leaving us open to attacks from harmful bacteria, other pathogens, fungus, yeast and parasites
AND because plastics are porous they have tons of hiding places for these bad guys to hide and get into our system when we ingest these plastics
I am not sure in this society we can completely avoid plastics but we can definitely educate ourselves on how to avoid what we can
In the graphic above (from ) I thought it would be great to this breakdown of what the symbols on plastics actually mean
Not all plastics are created equal. Some are definitely more harmful than others. This might help you to decide on which water bottle, cookware or storage container for your food you might buy. It could make a massive difference overall to your health too
It might seem small but when your system is already damaged and you then keep adding in things that keep degrading your system it makes it that much harder for your body to heal. Plus, any supplements or protocols just aren't going to work as well
You can reduce your dependence on plastics by switching to glass every time you need to replace a container or something you use that is plastic. Over time you can easily reduce your dependence on plastic and lessen your risk of leaky gut and other health issues!

How can you help yourself against 🥔 naturally without contributing more to your ?

Because they are considered a vegetable that means they have increased natural plant pesticides meant to ward off predators while ensuring the next generation. .
These plant toxins are called within potatoes. This family of chemical compounds has a very bitter taste to it and have been shown to be poisonous (and sometimes lethal) to humans when consumed in large amounts. They also stop the body from breaking down an essential neurotransmitter called Acetylcholine. When this builds up in the body it causes many negative effects to the nervous system that are similar to nerve gas
You may not realize you are being affected by potatoes as they may just be contributing to worsening your gut. This is why it is always best to TEST with testing
The number one way to help yourself is:
Cut out potatoes until your gut is healed
If you decide to keep eating them:
ALWAYS peel the skins and cook properly
ALWAYS discard any that are sprouting and greening as this shows an increase in glycoalkaloids!

There is a definite link between contributing to gut permeability issues like ! But why?
That’s what I was wondering over the last few weeks while I researched this. It occurred to me that and are not as wide-spread as some might think as they really only affect about 1% of the population.
While that is still a lot of people is it enough to have this movement become an industry of over $18 billion worldwide?
Honestly, in my opinion after the research I have done I’d have to say NO!
Instead what I’ve found is the increase in to actually be a clearer reason for more gluten-free options and for that label to be slapped on foods that don’t even contain gluten as a means to appeal to the consumer
Gluten Sensitivities can be fixed and are really a symptom of a damaged gut lining. It is a symptom of Leaky Gut already being present. What makes it worse is when you don’t cut out gluten when you have leaky gut then the gluten reactions that are causing you to feel a sensitivity to it are actually causing more damage! It becomes a
The only way to fix that so you can go back to eating foods with gluten in the future is to CUT OUT GLUTEN! Get rid of the triggers to give you gut space to heal itself.
Of course this is not the only thing you should be doing. Cutting out gluten does not automatically equal better health. If there are legit issues with gluten then there most likely is more going on that needs some serious help!
But before you cut out gluten it is always best to TEST, NOT GUESS! By getting a food sensitivity test to find out if gluten or any other foods are triggering your system you can then pin point what to cut out as an opportunity to help heal your damaged gut!
Finally, if you don’t have an issue with gluten and decide to keep eating foods like wheat, grains, and rye, then… 👉1. ALWAYS go for the best quality organic foods to reduce to potential for pesticides and GMOs.

Yes there is a link between potatoes and the worsening of Leaky Gut, but what is really going on?
Plants can only defend themselves through plant toxins that cause predators, pests and humans that eat them to have some kind of reaction to keep them from being eaten. This ensures the next generation to go on living
Plant toxins can build up in the body when we have Leaky Gut because our internal barrier is weak and has holes allowing things in and out of bloodstream without being properly broken down
Thus, this can trigger the body to have a negative response over time contributing to leaky gut in a ! Sometimes the best way forward is to cut out things like potatoes for a while so your body can heal itself!

It may not surprise you that gluten has been linked to being a cause for leaky gut, but do you know why it causes such a bad reaction?
In this video I explore only the tip of iceberg with gluten
What you'll get out of this video is understanding better what gluten is and why it causes reactions, a look into the movement and whether it is a fad and some suggestions on how you can help yourself
If you suspect you are having issues with gluten it is best to TEST, NOT GUESS! Getting a foods sensitivity test is the quickest way to find out but you can also work with a professional (like me) to tailor a diet to help remove a trigger like gluten so you can start healing your damaged gut
When it comes to Leaky Gut we can be triggered by so many things so it is always best to remove things causing more issues so your body has space and time to heal itself with the tools you are giving it!
Leaky Gut sucks but it can be healed! I hope this video helps you walk away more educated and informed to make healthier decisions that work for you as an individual and your individual health!

and ... yes there is a correlation, yes gluten can contribute to worsening your body but is gluten the only issue???
I struggled this week to find a photo to repost in regards to my next video on gluten and leaky gut
Why?
Because going seems to be a massive trend that may not be as beneficial to the masses as we all may think
So far I have found that gluten is actually made up of 2 proteins called glutenin and gliadin. It is that is the really problem child since it can directly interact with which then causes an inflammatory response to make our gut more permeable (gut permeability = a form of leaky gut)
The other part of this that I have found is this reaction doesn’t take place in a healthy gut. It is only if you already have damage to the gut lining
So one might think... well, then gluten doesn’t cause leaky gut, right? But it can definitely make it worse!!
And... that means if you don’t have autoimmune issues, already damaged guts or celiac then cutting out gluten doesn’t actually improve your health overall
Yes to all of this but that’s not all!!
Gluten can cause leaky gut but it’s not just gluten’s fault...
What!?! 🤔
Many foods we eat that have gluten are either not good because they are highly processed or they come from GMO crops, which we learned tend to be much higher in pesticides
This brings me to the graphic I chose to today from
Gluten is only a piece of the puzzle and thus NOT THE ONLY ROOT ISSUE!

What can you do to help yourself against ?

1️⃣ - Buy Local and/or from Smaller Companies for higher quality Foods
When it comes to produce and animal protein the higher quality you can buy the better. Local farmer’s markets and butchers will help you to make sure that you are getting the best quality food to help you feel fuller with less!
2️⃣- Stay away from mass produced, processed, bagged & Boxed foods
All of these items are made at such high volume that in order for these companies to make any money of them means they have to make lots of short cuts to get more out and quicker than nature would do
3️⃣- Buy Organic whenever possible
This gives you more of a chance for less pesticides. Not to say that organic is the end all be all, but it definitely can help
4️⃣- Research & KNOW the companies you are buying from
Not all small companies can afford to pay to get certified organic but that doesn’t mean they aren’t doing everything right. When you know who you are buying from you can be more informed on whether what products and foods you are getting are still good quality
5️⃣- Read Food Labels!
Know what you are eating! If you don’t know what is on the label look it up. Chances are it may be a toxin or chemical that you can easily avoid by not ingesting that product. And it could make all the difference to helping yourself feel better and heal!
6️⃣- Check out the and lists
These are foods that have been tested for pesticides and toxin levels and can help you decide which ones are worth spending more to buy organic and which ones aren’t (if you have to make a choice!)
7️⃣- Build up your community to help keep you on track
It is easier to create healthy lifestyle habits if the people around us are encouraging and also doing it! Find your tribe and lean on them when you need that extra bit of motivation to keep going

GMO foods (or genetically modified organisms) are a huge issue when it comes to our gut functioning properly. Not only are these foods structurally different causing our cells to overreact when they come into contact with these foods, but these foods are also much higher in toxins! That's a massive issue because whatever our food ingests we ingest!
In this video I go through and explain how and why GMO Foods cause, contribute and are directly linked to Leaky Gut!
I know it can be hard to get away from these foods these days but with my short list of tips I hope I can help educate you to make better decisions for yourself!
1. Buy Local
2. Look for Certified Organic
3. Do your research on the companies you buy from

GMO Foods! They are a huge issue and a massive topic of concern
So what are GMO foods anyways?
These are genetically modified foods that have been changed down the molecular level. Most times this has been done to help create more sustainable crops that are resistant to herbicides. This means that farmers can spray more toxins on their crops to get rid of pests and weeds without damaging the integrity of their crops
The problem with this is then these crops become more and more riddled with toxins that then get absorbed by animals and humans. These toxins can then wreak havoc in our guts causing bacteria to go haywire or be wiped out. This leaves us open to bad bacteria coming in and call us their new home!
There is another problem with GMO foods though. The fact that they are genetically different in structure can sometimes cause problems for your body to recognize the food and break it down properly. Although a stalk of corn can look the same to us, on a molecular level when the GMO corn is broken down (for instance) our bodies will not recognize the chemical structure of the GMO corn to be CORN. Instead it will see it as some foreign invader and then cause a serious of immune reactions!
Bad news right?! It’s crazy how out of control this has gotten in the U.S. while other countries around the world are banning GMO crops! This is because one of the biggest companies that produces GMO seeds for farmers in the U.S. (MONSANTO) has made it next to impossible to get out from under their thumb
What does that mean for us? And how can you avoid GMOs? Check out these tips below:

👉Check out the Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen Lists for the foods most likely to be riddled with pesticides so you can strategize which ones to buy organic
👉Read Labels and Research Companies - Many additives are actually riddled with GMOs (such as maltodextron and lecithin)
