Submitting my manuscript was such a cathartic experience after the intensive book writing experience. However, this is also a time of tremendous vulnerability and angst.
What will the editor think? Is it crap?
Will there be lots of rewrites?
Is it even worth publishing?
I am sure that many authors feel this way, but it doesn’t make it any less daunting!

✨Exciting Announcement !✨

I’ve been keeping this under wraps for a while now, but it’s time to share the news with all of you. A few people have asked about my second book, so here it is:

✨ The title of my new book is "More LOVE at Work"! ✨

I’m still working on the subtitle, but I couldn’t wait any longer to tell you about it.
This book introduces a leadership style that I call The Holistic Leader. It’s a modern approach designed to bring greater connection, resilience, and fulfilment into the workplace.

In "More LOVE at Work," I present the L.O.V.E Model of Listening, Openness, Values, Empathy. This framework is all about developing and integrating personal and interpersonal qualities in leaders, aiming to create a more compassionate and effective leadership style.

The new model combines the most effective aspects of past leadership theories and propels us into a new era of leadership with more heart, more service, and more love in the workplace – The Holistic Leader. This model is inspired by observing dynamic, successful leaders who embody these traits and from my own experiences as a leader.

I can’t wait to share more details with you as I progress along the publishing journey.

I am so excited to let you know that I have recorded the audiobook for BOUNCE BACK FAST – 5 Practical Steps to Resilience!

Recording this audiobook has been a significant milestone for me. The biggest challenge was getting started – carving out the time and space to fully immerse myself in the process. Narrating my own work required me to embody every message within the book.

Revisiting the content word by word reinforced my commitment to the insights and advice I share.
I had to resist the urge to ad lib and embellish as I was going along – there's so much more I'd love to share!

The journey from my desk to Audible is a long one - Now, it is off to the Sound Engineer to do his magic 📖 🎧✨

The Power of Focus: Lessons from my book writing journey

Having now written two books, I've learned that being 'in the flow' can lead to amazing accomplishments. During our Book Writing Intensive, I was in the zone, writing over 5000 words a day for about 12 hours each day. The words just flowed, it felt like a breeze! ✍️📖

Instead of feeling tired, I was energised and excited to show up for our coach check-ins and continue writing. I isolated myself from my family, got into my writing groove, and everything just clicked.

Once the intensive week was over, I needed to review my manuscript and send it off to the editor. Easier said than done! Stepping out of the zone made everything take longer. I had to reintegrate with family, catch up on emails, and handle my usual commitments. Plus, we celebrated my darling Lachlan’s birthday, which was a top priority. What should have taken a few hours stretched into a week.

The reason I’m sharing the story of my manuscript review is to highlight the stark difference between working 'in the zone' versus dealing with everyday distractions. We can achieve so much more when we're present and focused – something we all know intellectually but often forget in our fast-paced, media-filled lives.

Writing my second book in one week has been both challenging and exhilarating. ✨

Everyone’s journey through this week has been different. I have done 12-hour day writing sessions and wonderful check-ins with my tribe, every moment has been filled with determination, passion, and a sprinkle of magic. 🌟

I have felt the focus and drive to bring my unique message to the world. The process has been a whirlwind of creativity and connecting to my heart and soul.

I love creating a beautiful space to bring out the best in me and my writing, so I got a bouquet of flowers to brighten up my desk. I specifically chose the proteas as a reminder of my South African roots and Australian natives including the eucalyptus leaves to celebrate this beautiful land, I now call home. 🍂

I have to admit that my week was powered by lots of 95% Lindt chocolate – I don’t drink coffee and chocolate is much healthier – as far as I’m concerned!🍫

I was so excited to share my book BOUNCE BACK FAST with Rotary International President Gordon McInally. We are deeply aligned in our shared passion for raising awareness and prioritising mental wellbeing.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending a luncheon with our RI President, where we were inspired to CREATE HOPE IN THE WORLD.

I was deeply appreciative of his heartfelt gratitude for our individual contributions.
He reminded us that the efforts of one person delivered through a massive organisation like Rotary actually changes lives - of one person at a time!
We also had a very informative talk from Prof Pat McGorry on Youth Mental Health status in Australia.

With greater resilience, we create a ripple effect of hope, encouraging those around us to persevere and strive for a brighter future.

Beware of the stories you are telling yourself and cultivate a mindset of flexibility and adaptability.
Instead of viewing change as a threat, see it as an opportunity to stretch beyond your comfort zone, to explore new possibilities, and to challenge yourself in ways you never imagined.

Step 3 – Acceptance
Are you accepting the situation or are you avoiding change?
