AZA Design
A successful journey starts with a good plan.
Dealing with a small and sloped backyard can be tricky, but a high impact layout can maximize the use of space!
This colorful backyard is a reflection of the owner and her love for plants!
Design Philosophy
My design philosophy is simple. Less is more (unless more is required or desired). Simplicity is one of the hardest lessons to learn. The house is the main architectural element and planting should be complementary and not obscure the house but frame it. Following universal garden design principles, such as harmony unity and rhythm, using plants in drifts and creating continuity by repetition are also very important elements contributing in a functional and beautiful design that links the house with the outdoor space . When planning multiple elements, I strive to create a functional outdoor floor-plan that reflects your personality . Gardens are a form of autobiography and if designed carefully, should get better with time. Another important factor is “ the right plant in the right place”. Working with foliage color and using natives that feel “at home“ and are well adapted, is another ingredient contributing in a successful and well planned outdoor space that can be enjoyed for years to come.
About me:
I received my degree in Architecture from the University of Technology in Darmstadt, Germany (Dipl.- Ing. Architektur).
