Last of the pictures from wedding season! Here I embroidered this wedding dress using subtle crystals and seed beads so there was a slight glisten when the light hit them. Beautiful .barratt looking flawless. 👗 💒

Some more pictures from Jake’s wedding. This year I had the pleasure of designing and making the embroidery for Jake. These were Birds of Paradise flowers, something very special to Jake, as his Grandad use to grow them in his beautiful Garden. We placed them on both the sleeves, growing like a vine and are so happy with how they turned out! Love how they match the bouquet too.
If your interested in adding a personal touch to your suit/dress/veil or anything you own then contact me! I love to collaborate and work with people, so we can create something new and special together.

ARTIST PROFILE FEATURE
Thanks so much for taking the time to interview me and listen to my personal story! Very exciting to read this special piece. If you would like to hear more about my journey, come to lunchtime lightening talks in a couple of weeks!
Some more sampling for the project that I am working on at the moment.
I combined some embroidery processes with papyrus, which I bought lots of on my last trip. I had no idea what I would do with it at the time but I feel like there is so much more to experiment with. Linen/cotton also bought in Egypt and embroidered by me.
This project aims to have multiple collaborations with designers and artisans based in Egypt. This will range from embroidery, weave, ceramics and natural dying and home grown fabrics using the rich environment that Egypt has to offer.

Sampling for my next product in the making. Drafting out some big ideas and can’t wait to see it come in to fruition.
This project will be one that includes multiple collaborations with artisans in Egypt, ranging from ceramics, embroidery, naturally dying and textiles. I love the research stage of a project, where we are gathering imagery from the environment in Egypt and interpreting them into techniques and material research and mark making.

Outside my studios in Holborn. Our next open studios will be in June, where we welcome the public to come and see where and how we work.
We also offer the opportunity to buy directly from us. It’s always a busy and vibrant event where makers and clients are brought together in this rare opportunity to see the makers behind the scenes. Everyone is welcome!

Work in progress for the project.
As part of their ongoing partnership with Crafts Council UK, TOAST asked eight experienced textile artists from across the world to renew a few pieces from their archive collection. Using remnant fabric and faulty garments from production, each piece has been repaired, renewed and transformed using a variety of textile techniques.

My first large scale embroidered artwork. I created this during lockdown where I had time to make and create what I wanted.
You can view these large scale pieces at the next open studios end of November
