One of my fondest ever memories playing out live would have to come circa 2012.

If you can picture it with me; we're playing to a sold out Villa crowd @ Amon Vision's Trance Anthems event, the room is full, floor to ceiling punters dressed in their finest white attire and we're simply trying - but failing miserably - to make time slow down as we wind our way through the best Trance tracks of all time.

At these events, which kind of live on with legendary status, Marcel Grandt, Joe and myself would mix b2b2b for an extended 3.5 hour run - and while that may seem like reasonable amount of time - the premium placed on "what track you picked" was almighty. If you break it down, we'd get to pick maybe 15 tracks each? Now imagine trying to narrow that 15 down to your TOP 15 EVER!!

Deep into the night, the tunes are flying and the atmosphere is truly palpable. It's my turn to mix. I know what I'm going to play - as I reach for Mike Shivers remix of Oceanlab's Clear Blue Water. Just as I'm about to boot it to the deck and get it cued up, Joe slaps me on the back and says "WAIT. Play the Ferry Corsten Remix". "No, no", I say - "The Mike Shiver remix is the one I know" having never heard the Ferry remix up til that point...

It's a big ask to give up one of my 15 picks. But I go for it and mix it in blind. "Trust me." he says...

The following 7 minutes is an experience that I will spend the rest of my life trying to recreate. To be absolutely knocked off my feet by one of the most stellar Trance productions of all time, the surprise, to be DJing and simultaneously DJ'd to at the same time - and all the while looking around the room sharing that experience with 1000 other punters in real time. It just doesn't get any better than that. I really shouldn't have been so surprised, given Ferry Corsten's pedigree. Joe and I just refer to him as "The Lord" these days.

Flash(over) forward to today - and we're going to be doing it all again - except this time The Lord himself will be taking the reigns as the Anthem master. As one of the only Trance artists on the planet who could probably play his entire set with original productions - to say I'm excited is slightly understating things.

Anyway, here's a photo of us from that event - looking much younger, but no less goofy than today.

Rays in, melodies out… Summer boat parties with Amon Vision are the best!

We'll be bringing in the new year at our favourite super club; Metro City with the Trancition crew. Kick-starting things off in style early, you can catch us on the awesome Sunfall Stage - an open air concept situated on the outdoor rooftop level of the club.

The team have an insane and unique stage structure going in alongside the "all out" production Trancition fans will be well accustomed to.

We'll be getting things warmed up from 5pm to 6pm; so - one last time into the breach for 2021 - join us for some gorgeous melodies and some tough as nails drops before we bring in the new year!
