The Abalone shells Mystical orb shop sells are fake replicas. These shells are used for catching the ashes and hot embers of burning herbs when smudging.
Abalone is one of the largest Snails found in the oceans of New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Japan, and the west coast of North America. Their shell is so tough making it almost bulletproof so in turn having no threat from other animals apart from humans.
Sadly due to excessive poaching, they are at a critical low and bring a high price on the Black market. The beautiful creatures are a highly prized delicacy and an aphrodisiac in the far east, and the shells are used for making all sorts of products.
It is illegal to take Abalone now but sadly people are either paid money or given drugs by large syndicates to illegally remove these beautiful creatures.
Please be aware of the type of Abalone shells you are buying.
