Ridgewood Lego Club
The Ridgewood Lego Club is a chance for Ridgewood students and their families to build and create together.
We meet the first Monday of each month in the Ridgewood Commons from 2:15 to 3:00.
The final Lego Club meeting of the year included this amazing replica of the Taj Mahal and lots of creativity.
The final Lego Club meeting of the year is tomorrow in the Commons from dismissal until 2:45. I hope to see you there!
See you tomorrow in the Ridgewood Commons right after school for Lego Club.
I almost forgot to share this from yesterday’s Lego Club!
Don’t forget tomorrow is Lego Club in the Commons until 2:45. As Mrs. Ivey always says, “Bring a grown up and your imagination!”
Bring your creativity and an adult to tomorrow’s Lego Club (and a creation to display if you have one)! We’ll provide the 17,000 bricks.
It’s no trick! You can treat yourself to Lego Club on Monday until 2:45 in the Ridgewood Commons.
Everyone’s spooky creations looked amazing today!
I’ll see you again on November 6th.
We are in need of a regular volunteer or two (or three!) to work alongside Ms. Cook in order to keep the Maker Lab up and running this year. If you are interested in spending and hour and half once a month with a crew of curious, creative makers in grades 3-6, please contact Ms. Bryie, Cutten School principal, at 441-3900.
Please share this post with interested folks in the Ridgewood/Cutten School community of families.
We had a great turnout for the first Lego Club meeting of the year! See you again on Monday, October 2nd.
Welcome back, Lego Clubbers!
Our first meeting of the new school year is this Monday, from 2:00-2:45 in the Ridgewood Commons. Please remember an adult must be present to attend, but more importantly, remember we invite all adults to join us in building.
See you then, Mr. Deshais
Thanks for another great school year Lego clubbers. See you in the fall for more creative fun!
Sharing amazing creations is always welcome at the Ridgewood Lego Club!
See you this Monday for the April meeting of the Ridgewood Lego Club!
Our next Lego Club meeting is this Monday from 2:15-3:00. See you there!
Today's Maker Lab featured our very own Jay Seeger as a guest maker. He shared his homemade mini pumpkin launching trebuchet, giving students a chance to try punkin' chunkin' themselves!
The next Ridgewood Lego Club meeting will be Monday, November 7th in the Commons from 2:15-3:00. See you then!
Our final meeting of the school year may have been lightly attended, but creativity and Lego bricks were most definitely NOT in short supply.
We are in need of cardboard for this Wednesday's STEAM Stewards event. Please drop off your donations (i.e. Recycling) at either school site. Thanks!
Although the younger Mr. Deshais won't be there, he's prepared for tomorrow's Lego Club! How about you?
Do you have a racecar or some heavy equipment? We are having a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) Day on May 11 at Cutten School and need some folks interested in donating their time (and charismatic machines) for an "open exploration" area where students can wander around, look at machines, and ask questions of the owners. If you know someone that would fit the bill, please have them contact me!
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, tomorrow's Lego Club build challenge is something green and/or gold. See you then!
Many thanks to the Velasquez family for their generous donation to the Lego Club! There's a lot of creative potential in those bags.
Know someone with a kiddo starting kindergarten (or transitional kindergarten) next school year? Let them know this is the week to pick up registration packets!
Registration opens tomorrow for the 2016-2017 school year. The sooner district transfer hopefuls return registration packets (available at both Cutten and Ridgewood School offices), the greater the odds are of joining one of the best school districts in Humboldt County!
Yes, I am quite biased, and yes, we ask that you kindly spread the word.
The holidays may be behind us, but the first Ridgewood Lego Club meeting is only a day away! See you tomorrow after school in the Commons for some creative fun!
The build challenge this month is something monochromatic (only using one color).
I'm teaching a class at GATE Academy the first week in January and need your help! If you have a few study boxes, tubes, doodads, or other items good for middle schoolers to create with, please send them to class the week we return. Many thanks!
Lego Club is this Monday! Since next week is Computer Science Education Week, the building challenge will be robotic.
It's about time!
New LEGO Slippers Will Spare Parents The Unique Pain They Know All Too Well For decades, parents of little kids have bonded over the uniquely searing pain that occurs when you step on a LEGO.
By royal decree, I hereby invite you to the Lego Club this Monday in the Ridgewood Commons. Your build challenge, if you choose to accept it, is something spooky.
A creative time was had by all at today's Lego Club! See you Monday, November 2nd, for the next meeting.
Have a picture to share from today's meeting? As long as it only features children you have permission to post on Facebook, then please do so!
