Keep wearing a mask!
I got hit last Friday with flu or RSV. The Covid test was negative – if one can even can trust those home tests. Fever for days and I never get a fever. Or never used to. Hadn’t had flu since 1989. Haven’t had cold either, because I know how to take Oscillo for flu, enough vitamin C, and vitamin D immediately to illuminate them. Or pick homeopathic remedies to lessen the symptoms. So I’ve always been very safe feeling out there in the world because I knew how to protect from the worst viruses can do.
All that seems to have been thrown to the wall. The latest omicron is “immune evasive.” So if that’s the case, it doesn’t matter how much you blast vitamin C and vitamin D, and all the rest, you’re raising your immune system, but the virus is managing to evade it. So all bets are off and it’s all new territory… The homeopathic remedies did help somewhat, but Oscillo usually nails a fever if its flu.
Anyway, I’ve been down for the count. I went to the grocery store without a mask. Was that it? Geez… Anyway, now I feel like I have to wrap myself in cotton wool and wear 86 masks. It’s very depressing to think that we are so vulnerable now to these modern viruses.
What’s changed?
Love your comments and thoughts.

Many people do not know what homeopathy is. I was asked again today. So... :-) What is homeopathy?
So many people equate homeopathy with ‘holistic.’ While homeopathy is a holistic modality, it is not the same thing as ‘holistic.’
www.solomonhealing.wordpress.com
Homeopathic philosophy is very different to that of orthodox medicine as we know it. The medical world maintains an accent on finding a “single bullet” to attack any invader in the body. A good example is an antibiotic, which acts like a specific “hammer,” targeting and killing specific bacteria. The body’s own immune system does not take part in the fight, but is overridden by the antibiotic itself. In fact, the immune system is suppressed during the duration of the course of antibiotic treatment.
Current medical opinion takes the views that symptoms are a direct manifestation of the illness and therefore doctors treat the ailment by suppressing the symptoms. Homeopathy, by contrast, sees the symptoms as the body’s reaction against the illness as it attempts to overcome it, and seeks to stimulate, not suppress this reaction. It acts with the body, to raise its own defenses to battle the problem. Therefore, the immune system takes part in the fight, and the body is stronger for it.
Homeopathic remedies appear to trigger a healing process in the body by stimulating the body’s natural forces of recovery. It is a natural medicinal science that uses very small doses of plant, animal, or mineral substances to stimulate the body’s innate healing ability. Homeopathy views most symptoms as efforts by the body to re-establish homeostasis and therefore seeks to support the body’s inherent efforts to heal itself.
Homeopathy uses specially prepared, infinitesimal doses of substances that, in larger quantities, would cause the very symptoms they are trying to address. This basic principle has been known since the time of the ancient Greeks. Derived from the Greek word “Homoios” meaning “like,” homeopathy is the practice of treating “like with like.” Here’s an example. When cutting onions for cooking, your eyes itch and run, your nose runs, and you sneeze. Onions made into a homeopathic remedy, known as Allium Cepa, can be very effective in reducing the symptoms of runny nose, itching eyes, and sneezing that accompany a cold or allergies. Another example is Poison Ivy (Rhus Tox). In homeopathic doses, Rhus Tox is a valuable remedy for certain skin rashes since in its undiluted state it causes them. Therefore like cures like. This principle is known as the “law of similars,” and has been used throughout history. Hippocrates himself wrote, “Through the like, disease is produced, and through the application of like it is cured.”
A German physician, Samuel Hahnemann, developed homeopathy in the early 1800’s. A respected physician and chemist, he was nevertheless appalled by the medical practices of his day, such as bleeding, and the use of toxic substances such as arsenic and mercury. He sought a method of healing which would be safe, effective, and gentle. At that time the main treatment for malaria was quinine from cinchona bark. He decided to take quinine himself as an experiment. Imagine his astonishment when he discovered that taking small regular doses of cinchona bark produced symptoms very similar to those of malaria! But when given to a patient suffering from malaria, the symptoms were alleviated, and the patient would recover.
He also tested belladonna, mercury, arsenic and silver nitrate, common poisons and substances used in medical practice at the time, to see what their effects would be on healthy people. Once again he found that small, dilute doses of these substances would induce symptoms similar to the illnesses for which they were being used. Many similar experiments over many years led Hahnemann to the conclusion that remedies obtained from animal, vegetable, and mineral sources were just as effective in extreme dilutions. He worked to establish the smallest effective dose, realizing that his was the best way to avoid side effects. In doing this he unexpectedly discovered that the more a remedy is diluted, the more effective it becomes.
Homeopathic medicines are manufactured through a scientific pharmacological procedure called potentization. This is a process of diluting and shaking and further diluting and shaking. The most commonly used dilution in the United States is the decimal or “x” potency. A 1x potency is a concentration of 1/10th, 2x is 1/100th, 3x is 1/1000th etc. To create a common potency, a 6x, one would start by making a 1x. This is done by mixing ten drops of the original plant or mineral substance with 90 drops of water and alcohol, then shaking hard, or hitting against a surface such as a book, thirty to fifty times. This is known as dilution and succussion. For a 2x, you simply take ten drops of the 1x, and, just as you did before, mix with 90 drops of alcohol and water, and succuss. Continue with the 3x, 4x, 5x, until you create a 6x.
No one can yet satisfactorily explain how homeopathic doses work. One theory is that succussion creates an electrochemical pattern somewhat akin to a holographic memory, which is stored in the dilutant, and then spreads through the body’s water. Another theory suggests that the dilution-succussion process creates an electro-magnetic field. Recent work by physicists using nuclear resonance imaging has ascertained that there is a different structure and shape to the molecules of a homeopathic remedy and those of simple water and alcohol. This has gone some way to stopping the claim that “there’s nothing in them” which has plagued homeopathy to date. Also, there have been more and more careful studies recently which help to confirm the effectiveness of homeopathy. In any case, with modern physics constantly discovering smaller and smaller particles and their effects, and with the discovery that insects can detect and act on pheromones in the air to one part per million, the idea of an infinitesimal dose having an effect on the body no longer seems impossible.
Because they are so greatly diluted, homeopathic remedies are not harmful. They are safe, non-toxic and non-addictive. Homeopathic remedies, like all medicines, are regulated by the FDA. Because they are so extremely dilute and are free from side effects, they are completely safe for the patient. Homeopathic remedies will not interfere or react with other medications the patient may be taking.

Do you know someone who suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Or you do yourself? I did. For eight long horrible years. Until a homeopathic remedy cleared it in two short weeks.
So I wrote a book about CFS, and here is the introduction…
"Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: a guide to the homeopathic treatment of CFS/M.E."
I had already completed my nutrition degree in London, more than 20 years ago, from the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London, and had been practicing nutrition for some years, when I, of all people, came down with the dreaded Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. (M.E. is the UK term for CFS). Imagine my shock, disbelief, and denial when I got the flu and never got better. It couldn’t happen to me, I was a nutritionist! I ate organic food, drank very little alcohol, I exercised, I took tons of nutritional supplements.
Over the next 7 years I tried everything. First of all, of course, came the orthodox physicians. I heard everything from “You’re hyperventilating, breathe out of a brown paper bag and you’ll be fine” to “Try to get some more rest- here is a prescription for tranquilizers and sleeping pills.“
I also tried, oh, so many alternative practitioners, who, while more caring people, couldn’t seem to help either. I would find a bit of improvement from herbs, a chiropractic adjustment, acupuncture, or whatever, but it would not hold, and I’d sink right back down. I sought out naturopaths, acupuncturists, Chinese herbalists, a chiropractor, a DO, massage therapy. I even tried hypnotherapy, in case I had somehow brought this all on myself and therefore my mind could undo it. Nothing was of much use, certainly nothing lasting. There was no reprieve from the never-ending headaches, body and muscle aches, and inexplicable, all consuming fatigue. Imagine you flew from L.A. to Bangkok, with the flu, and a hangover, and then add the sensation that you’ve drunk 5 cups of coffee so you can’t sleep. When you sleep, it is a light floating semi-sleep full of horrible dreams, and you wake up hundreds of times. You just hurt all over like someone has hit you with a baseball bat about 40 times, and you honestly wish you were dead. That’s Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
In the end it was homeopathy, to be exact a nosode remedy of the Coxsackie Virus that did it. I got worse for a week, then got better. A few weeks later I was 80%, and 6 months later, after attention to allergies, and adrenal exhaustion, I was back to normal. There was no pain, no foggy feeling in the head, no exhaustion, no swollen glands, no sore throat, no sore muscle points. I felt like the black and white TV of my life had suddenly been given a sharp new color tube. I was so incredibly impressed with homeopathy, and what it could do, from my own experience and others, that I began to study it myself to add to my practicing modality of nutrition
The truth is, no one in the world of homeopathy knows exactly how homeopathy works. But I have helped dozens of people with CFS to recover some or most of their health with a remedy similar to Coxsackie. It might be another flu virus, or Cytomegalovirus, or even the mononucleosis virus. This is not to say that I think everyone with CFS will recover this dramatically with the use of a viral nosode, but it certainly can be a part of the picture. Or at least a viral involvement must be eliminated as a cause.
As a fully recovered Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferer (a rare beast), I have a lot of experience to share, and a lot of understanding and compassion for all those suffering from various illnesses or symptoms. In the last 15 years I have worked with allergies, ADD/ADHD, children’s ear infections, menopausal and hormonal problems, tinnitus, meniere’s, depression, insomnia, and much more.
Aches and pains of muscle injuries or arthritis? Many of us immediately reach for an anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen, or even the prescription drug diclofenac. Or many of us don’t. That’s because it causes us stomach pain. Even for those who it doesn’t seem to bother, ibuprofen taken systemically can cause bleeding or irritation to the stomach lining. So, it’s not a good idea to take it often even if you believe you are fine with it.
Now, most of you know I’m a homeopathic and nutritionist, so you wonder why I’m suggesting a drug! True, I think you should first reach for homeopathic Arnica, 30 C, or a good Arnica cream. But if you really need an extra whammy, try ibuprofen cream. Now I know you can buy this over the counter in the pharmacy, but it’s pretty expensive.
TIP: I simply take an ibuprofen tablet, and crush it up, in any body lotion or body cream I have. Works like a charm. There you have it: topical ibuprofen cream. Cheap and useful.
But don’t forget your homeopathic Arnica!
