We recently looked at the Zoo. One of our favourite themes, we looked at giraffe, lions, zebras and elephants. The children made some wonderful art .
Last Thursday we had our school tour to Secret Valley we had a great day and we met lots of furry and not so furry friends. We had a delicious lunch and the children had lots of fun in the playground and on the bouncy castle.
We recently looked at the life cycle of a butterfly. We were amazed at the journey from egg to adult butterfly. We had lots of fun with yoga and made some lovely unique art for our display.
Last week we looked at famous landmarks. We looked at the Burj Khalifa, Eiffel Tower, Pyramids of Egypt and the statue of liberty. This theme allowed the children to recreate these landmarks using a variety of construction materials.
Last week we looked forward to St Patrick's Day and explored all things Irish. We learned a cupla focal "is mise ..." , we did some Irish dancing , made fantastic Irish art. On Friday we had a visit from Colin and he brought in some Owls and hawks for the children to touch and hold. We were amazed.
Some pictures from our theme Pets . The children introduced us to their pets and told us how to take care of them . We learned what pets need to stay healthy such as food, excerise and most importantly love. We created a dramatic play invitation to play at the vets and the children had great fun treating all of our sick stuffed pets.
We recently looked at one of our favourite themes Spring. We made beautiful daffodils and spring cherry blossom trees complete with buzzy bees and colourful birds.

We recently took a look at all things transport , the children were amazed at how cars have changed throughout the years. We looked at trains, planes, cars and painted with trucks.
Last week love and pancakes were in the air. We talked about how we show love to our families and talked about how spec5they are to us. The children loved pancake Tuesday and we had some with our favourite topping Nutella 😋

Space was Our theme for the last two weeks , it was such a big topic to explore. We looked at the sun, our solar system , the milky way and learned about astronauts and rockets. We made our own Space station and had lots of fun on our adventures.
Last week we took a trip to The Artic and The Antarctic. We had lots of fun with snow and learned what animalsvlive in the artic and Antartic. We saw Inuit people building igloos and had fun creating our own. We waddled with our penguin friends and saw amazing Northern lights.
We've been very busy since we started our new term , we looked at our 5 senses and then followed on with learning how our bodies work. We explored how we use our body parts and how they work together to help us move, breathe and live . We created a doctors surgery invation to play and explored how staying healthy is important for our day to day lives.
Happy Christmas to you all , thank you for all your support and the beautiful gifts. We finished with our Christmas party today and during Clonroche National School assembly this morning our little elves sang some Christmas songs . It was a great finish to an enjoyable week. Our Christmas themed display
We have been celebrating Christmas early , here are some pictures of our Elves having fun. We have been practicing really hard for our Christmas concert too.
Last week we were busy mixing colours. We used a variety of methods to mix our favourite colours orange, pink, grey, green, purple. We delved into some science and experimented mixing colours with skittles and a rainbow volcano 🌋. We made some beautiful art and finished our week with a gorgeous handprint art to hang up in our room.
We explored winter theme recently. We revisited hibernation , talked about feeding birds and talked about changes in our environments. We sorted out our winter and summer clothes and discussed why we wear different clothes for winter 🥶. We made beautiful twinkling winter sky's and we made snow .
We had great fun last week , we visited our favourite Nursery Rhymes. We had great fun with Humpty Dumpty , boiled eggs and lots of falls. We sang lots of songs and had great fun outdoors.
Next Friday 17th November, Clonroche Playschool will be taking part in National Pyjama Day 2023. This year funds raised are going to AsIam to help children with Autism access supports and services. All children have sponsorship cards, please support this very worthy cause.

We had lots of fun for our Halloween theme. We dressed up, had some spooky treats, made some ghosts , witches and got messy with pumpkins . We ended our week with a party and some dancing . We hope you are all enjoying the break and we will see you all next week.
Homework club have had lots of fun with playdough.
We took a dive under the sea and explored how Sea horses, Sharks , Dolphins , whales and Octupus lived. We listened to whale sounds and discovered its not easy to walk like a crab. We had lots of under the sea stories and had great fun making fantastic art.
Some pictures from our recent theme Autumn , we looked at how our environment changes and made wonderful autumn coloured leaves and trees. This theme enables us to really explore with our senses as we had crunchy leaves in golden colours, spikey conkers and little acorns.
Last week we looked at one of our favourite themes Fairytales. We read The Gingerbread man, Goldilocks and the 3 bears, The 3 little pigs, The 3 Billy Goats Gruff and Little Red Riding. The children had lots of fun recreating their version of the stories and we had some fantastic art too.
