Takeaways, lessons, & random notes from our first trip with a toddler 🗒️

Moms, what is something you learned or realized after you travelled with your toddler for the first time? We’ve flown several times when Brooks was a baby & wasn’t moving all around so this trip was a whole new experience!! I wouldn’t change it for a thing but it was a lot 🫠 Who can relate to this?! & then share something that makes traveling easier for you. Like something random you figured out or a specific hack that makes things a little smoother when traveling with kids. Help your girl (& the rest of the moms) out in the comments👇🏼

Today & every day 👏🏼

“Feeling like it” all the time is unrealistic.

Understanding this and getting in the habit of showing up with flexibility is key.

I don’t force myself to do anything but I also don’t let my mood stop me from doing SOMETHING.

This is why I have a “toolkit” and “menu” of habits. Nothing is set in stone, I tune into what I need and go from there.

This makes it a whole lot easier & MUCH more enjoyable.

Something to think about: do you have a flexible or fixed mindset when it comes to your habits? If you answered “fixed”, think about some small ways you can approach your daily routine with a bit more flow.✨

For the multi-passionate moms ❤️‍🔥

You know that feeling when you’re trying to fit all your interests into one neat little box labeled ‘purpose’? Yeah, it doesn’t work. Trust me, I’ve tried.

Here’s the thing: We’re not one-dimensional beings. We have different sides & interests, and they’re all equally valid and worth exploring.

As someone who has always pursued my many passions full force, becoming a mom rocked me because I thought I had to put all my other passions on the back burner. Like, way back. I was all in on motherhood (which is amazing, don’t get me wrong), but I started feeling... off. Incomplete. Like I was only showing up as a fraction of myself.

It wasn’t until I started carving out tiny pockets of time for my other interests that I felt that spark again✨

And guess what? It made me a better mom too. More present, more patient, more fun! Who knew?

So here are some truth bomb:
Your passions aren’t distractions from motherhood – they’re fuel 🚀
Making time for what lights you up isn’t selfish – it’s necessary to thrive > survive 🫠
You’re not just ‘Mom’ – you’re a whole ass complex human with multiple facets 💎

Here’s the reframe: It’s not about ‘taking time away from mom-ing.’ It’s about renewing your spirit TO mom! When you give energy to all parts of yourself, you show up fuller, happier, and more present for your kids.

My challenge to you: Embrace ALL your passions. Your love for fitness AND your obsession with true crime podcasts. Your knack for spreadsheets AND your talent for shaking that 🍑. It all counts. It all matters!!

After reading this, share w/ me: What passion are you going to make time for this week? Tell me below so I can hype you up!

Ready to make the most of your week?

Here are 3 ways to set yourself up for success:

1. Choose 1-2 small habits to focus on: Pick one or two general habits like mindfulness or movement and let yourself be flexible. Each day, decide what feels good to you— maybe it’s a morning walk one day and a quick meditation the next. The goal is to show up for yourself in a way that feels good & works for you that day, avoiding the trap of perfectionism and burnout.

2. Prime your environment for success: Create an environment that supports your goals. Stock your fridge with healthy foods, schedule your workouts for the week, set out your supplements where you can see them, get to sleep a little earlier, etc. A supportive environment makes it easier to stick to your habits and maintain your momentum.

3. Sunday night visualization: Take a few minutes before bed tonight to visualize your week. Focus on what you want to experience and how you want to feel. See yourself handling challenges like your best self and moving through your week with ease. This positive mental rehearsal sets a powerful tone for the days ahead!

Set your intentions.
Prime your environment.
Visualize your success.

YOU GOT THIS BOO 👏🏽

Drop a commitment to yourself below and let me hype you up!

📌 The best habits for moms:

Simply put…the ones that work for YOU.

The “ideal mom routine” is a myth & the best habits are the ones energize you, align with your unique life, and bring joy — not drain you or add stress.

Self-care might be a quiet coffee or a family dance party. Your values could prioritize home-cooked meals or time-saving convenience.

The goal? Tune into what truly serves your family. Ditch the guilt over not following someone else’s “perfect” routine and lean in to what works for you, in this season of life.

Remember: You’re not just going through motions. You’re consciously crafting a life that feels good to live. & don’t forget you’re leading by example bc they’re always watching, mama 👀

Let’s get real about habits:

They’re not about going all-in for a week and then quitting when life gets messy. That’s not how lasting change happens. The secret to *lasting* change is consistency > perfection. The truth is, you’re 100% looks different each day and so will your habits. You don’t have to execute them the same exact way everyday in order for them to “work”. Some days you’ll crush it, others you’ll barely squeeze it in – and that’s okay!!! What matters is that you SHOW UP, in whatever way you can.

Maybe today it’s a 30-minute workout and tomorrow it’s a 5-minute meditation between meetings. It all counts. It’s all moving you forward.

Remember, you’re not aiming for a perfect streak. You’re building a lifestyle. A commitment to yourself that bends but doesn’t break when life gets chaotic. It’s time to ditch the all-or-nothing mindset, mama!!

With today being a holiday, it’s the perfect opportunity to practice showing up imperfectly. Do something small that will get you feeling as lit as the 4th 💥 and notice what a power move it is follow through on the days you know most people are falling off.

Share a small commitment you made to yourself today so I can hype you up below 👏🏽👏🏽

& HAPPY 4th of July!!! Wishing y’all a fun, joyful, and safe holiday ❤️

New month, fresh perspective 🍋👀

It’s July 1st which means we’re 6 months into 2024 and if you haven’t started working on your habits yet, NOW IS THE TIME to be a brand new bish come 2025.

Remember: if you start today — in 2 weeks you’ll notice a difference in how you feel, in 4 weeks you’ll see visible changes, and in 8 weeks it’ll become an ingrained part of your lifestyle 👏🏽

A few tips to start upgrading your habits and create a ripple effect on your fam:

Set bare minimums: Life happens, and some days are pure chaos. Plan your non-negotiables - the tiny habits you can do even on your worst day. Maybe it’s a 2-minute meditation or 15 minute walk. Make it super simple and something you can get in no matter what.

Stack ‘em: Piggyback a new habit you want to add in onto something you already do daily. Want to start journaling? Do it while you sip your morning coffee. Trying to move more? Do 15 squats or counter push-ups every time you wash your hands or brush your teeth. Make it easy to remember by linking it to an existing habit/routine.

Prime your environment: Set yourself up for success by making your good habits easy and your not-so-great ones harder. Schedule your workouts ahead of time, meal prep, don’t keep unhealthy snacks in the house, put your phone charger far from your bed if you’re trying to break a morning scroll habit, keep a book next to your bed if you want to read more, etc.

Save this for later if you found it helpful and tag a friend in the comments to hold each other accountable!

Pick 1-2 and take action 👏🏼

Your morning routine doesn’t have to be overwhelming or over the top. Keeping it simple is how we stay consistent!

& the best morning routine is one you’ll actually stick to. It’s about finding what works for YOU, not what looks good on the gram.

Maybe you’re a night owl who needs those extra ZZZs. Cool! Your “morning” routine might start at 10 AM. Or maybe you’ve got 10 minutes max before the kids wake up. Guess what? You can still set a powerful tone for your day 🙌🏽

The key is to keep it simple and intentional. Pick a few small habits that make you feel like the badass mom you are and then experiment, adjust, and find your groove.

Remember, this isn’t about adding more to your plate. It’s about filling your cup first so you can show up as your best self for your family.

Here’s an inspo list you can save or screenshot for when you’re overthinking or feel like you “don’t have enough time”. This will remind you that a few intentional minutes can go a long way!

Which tiny habit are you going to try adding into your morning routine? Lmk below 👇🏼

Why you should look at your systems if you aren’t hitting your goals 🎯

In a world driven by results and focused on achievement, it's easy to become fixated on the finish line.

We end up constantly chasing the next milestone or accomplishment to only feel burnt out and disappointed when we don’t reach it in the timeframe or way we expect to.

But what if we consider a paradigm shift? What IF we decided to change our fixation on goals to appreciating our systems and embracing the journey?

We've all heard the saying, "It's not about the destination; it's about the journey." But HOW can we appreciate the journey if we’re not hitting our goals?

By shifting our mindset from fixating on the outcome to focusing on the daily processes, routines, and habits that shape our path.

But making this shift isn’t easy & THIS is why you need systems!

Goals provide a target, but systems lay the foundation for continuous progress.

Goals can be finite, but systems are sustainable.

✨Systems bring consistency, turning aspirations into actionable steps.✨

They create a framework for progress, helping you navigate challenges and stay resilient in the face of setbacks.

Goals may offer a momentary sense of accomplishment, but it's the daily habits ingrained within our systems that truly mold and fulfill us.

Whether it's a morning routine that fuels mindfulness or a commitment to lifelong learning, systems foster habits that stand the test of time.

So, the next time you feel frustrated with your progress on your goals, take a step back and examine your systems.

Did you find this perspective helpful? Lmk in the comments and save this post for when you need the reminder.

How I use my emotions to make better decisions, connect, & adapt ↴

🦂SCORPIO SZN = INTENSE EMOTIONS...

Who else has been feeling it? As someone who experiences emotions deeply, managing these intense feelings has always been a journey. For years, I struggled with identifying too closely with my emotions.

Example—
Whenever I felt low energy, I'd label myself as lazy.
& when overwhelmed, I'd consider myself chaotic and conclude everything was falling apart.

This perception was far from reality, but back then, I genuinely believed that my emotions defined me. I gave them way more significance than they deserved & saw them as a permanent part of me, rather than a passing moment in time.

I viewed my emotions as negative & would let minor things ruin my entire day 🙅🏻‍♀️

But now, I see them for what they are:

1. An essential part of the human experience.
2. Fleeting; they come and go.
3. Valuable insight for connecting with others, making decisions, finding motivation, adapting, and better understanding ourselves.

I came to realize that when I felt low energy, it usually meant I was doing something draining that I didn't actually want to do but felt obligated to.

& when overwhelmed, it was a sign that I needed to get organized, be more strategic with my time, and prioritize self-care.

If you're someone who views emotions negatively or as a sign of weakness, I encourage you to reconsider your perspective.

How do your emotions enrich your life? How do they enhance your human experience, and how can you use them as a guide?

Our emotions can be some of our greatest allies if we learn to feel, express, and channel them effectively.

The next time you're swept up in intense emotions and your automatic response is to dismiss or let them define you, use the mantras above.

Save this post, take a screenshot, or copy it in your notes. Add to it or omit what doesn't resonate & the next time those powerful feelings surface, refer to your notes and CHOOSE a new approach.

When you do, you'll gather wisdom for the road ahead ✨

Share this with a friend who needs to see this & share your best tip for managing big emotions below!
