As I leave office this weekend, I've been reflecting on my past decade on the City Council, and about how much I love Los Angeles. In this video message, I talk about what we've done together, and how Los Angeles is worth fighting for. I hope you'll take a moment to watch. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for giving me the opportunity to serve. I love Los Angeles.

Thank you to the friends, colleagues and constituents who contributed to this beautiful video marking the end of the my tenure on the City Council. And much love to the incredible Eric Kelly who filmed and produced it. Gratitude and Love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Let’s reject the negative campaigns that are appealing to fear and fueling grievances and resentments. We can embrace the progressive campaigns that have a positive vision, and an affirmative sense of community. We can support the candidates and ballot measures that appeal to our hopes and our aspirations.

Have you been tricked in to helping the healthcare industry cut workers pay? If you signed a petition in the past couple weeks in LA, it’s a deceptive effort to repeal the $25 minimum wage. Text 323-888-8123 ASAP to remove your name. Seiu United Healthcare Workers West

VOTER ALERT: millionaire healthcare executives are trying to trick you into helping them cut the pay of our healthcare workers. Please don’t fall for it. Do not sign their petitions. Our healthcare workers take good care of us. We need to take good care of them. Seiu United Healthcare Workers West

Homelessness is getting worse - and the City Council is poised to vote on a new law that will move encampments from block to block, instead of housing the people living in them. I’m a NO vote on this law. We need to focus relentlessly on ending homelessness, not waste money on failed strategies that criminalize it.

If you haven’t voted yet in Los Angeles city elections, please cast your ballot by Tuesday Dash and then please vote for Kenneth Mejia for LA City Controller.

Please vote for Strong 4 Sheriff. We need a sheriff with vision, integrity, and strength to replace the disgraced Alex Villanueva, who has presided over a department notorious for police violence and violations of civil rights and liberties. Please vote for Eric Strong by June 7.

Tuesday - Vote Mike Bonin for City Council
