Jaxaphone Crafts and Handmade Gifts
Ceramics, jewellery, sewing etc. All just for fun not profit. I love making things but I've only got so much space so here's a place to share the joy. UK based.
The heads are looking right at home in the garden 💚
I don't think I shared the finished ghost mug! 👻
Ghost mug has been glazed 👻 off to be fired.
Glazed frog bowls 💚🐸
The heads have their hair dos now. Enjoy the sunshine!
Latest mug off to kiln.
Frog bowls have been glazed. Long wait to see how they turn out as I'm away on holiday next week.
Set of 3 heads I've made for my garden. Rough and unglazed so I'm hoping they'll get mossy and blend in.
In progress pinch pot frog bowls.
Finished mushroom mug. Pleased with the end result. Not my smoothest finish on the inside base but otherwise happy.
Mushroom mug update. Fired and glazed. Looking forward to seeing the final piece.
Mushroom mug in progress. 🍄
Will be keeping these little birds. Pleased with how they came out ❤️🐦
Another mug on the way. Trying out my new pumpkin cutter.
I've been a little quiet. Busy with Halloween costume! Back at pottery last night. First up, some fern imprints. The one with spores sprouted!
Not the best picture of the glazing. This will be clear and glossy, although I admit I like the white. Where it is glazed will also be darker than the 'naked' terracotta.
I've done myself a set of Jacks for my tree, to go with my official Nightmare Before Christmas baubles.
Some of the bits from last week glazed and back off to the kiln. The bobbly ones will come out more interesting than they appear at the mo as they're speciality glazes.
The skellies are based on (but not exact copies) of something I saw on Pinterest so will likely not be for sale. Even though I don't make any profit from selling my pottery bits I feel a bit funny selling items that look close to their inspiration. I wanted to give these a go in reverse, a bit like my fish skellies, but I had white clay on the go soo... just for some fun here they are.
Having a play making prints from flowers from my garden. I want to preserve a few bits to take with me when I move. Whilst I have been frustrated by the small size of my garden, filling it with flowers and veg has brought lots of joy.
The pansies and cosmos have come out best. I tried some ferns but without much success. I'm thinking I might try some bits in clay with the ferns.
These bits were also cut out and cleaned up on Tuesday. Mostly for personal projects but maybe a few of the finished items will be up for sale.
Another pot that has gone for firing. This one is a coil pot so it's been on the go for a while.
Another pot that has been in the works. Gone onto the firing shelf last night.
Pleased with these. The fish will be necklaces, 2 will be available.
The pair of little splatter birds (robins?) have their wire legs.
