LJHS is home to Junior Thespian Troupe #89415, which is a part of the International Thespian Society.
Happy to all theatre educators! We asked students what they wanted to thank their theatre teacher for — here are some of the many responses we received:
"Pushing us to do our best and celebrating with us when we succeed!"
"Being the biggest cheerleader for me."
"Urging me to keep my head up. No matter the circumstance."
"Teaching me how to use my voice."
"Inspiring me to keep going because someone believed in me 100%."
"Inspiring me to become a theatre teacher!"
"For continuing to see my potential and giving me chances to improve."
"Everything."

Another great year for the LJHS Drama Club is in the books. We had three great shows year: The Day the Internet Died, Gothic Ghost Stories, and Thespian Showcase. We got to return to in-person theatre conferences, attending both the Junior Thespian and State Conferences for the first time in 2 years. Golda and Veda even one Excellents for their monologues at State. Good luck to the 8th graders as they move onto the high school program!
Next year will also mark a new era for LJHS Drama Club. Mr. Howerton will take over running the LJHS Drama Club while Mr. Pearcy departs the program to focus on running the LHS Magpie, the high school newspaper.
