Re-Elect Tony Hawley for Sheriff Okanogan County

Re-Elect Tony Hawley for Sheriff Okanogan County

Tony Hawley for Sheriff of Okanogan County.

08/12/2022

Thank you to all my supporters through the campaign and over the past 4 years.

My team and I faced several challenges head on and did work to provide the best for Okanogan County. The election did not end up in my favor even though it was a slight margin.

As a professional, I fully intend to continue to serve Okanogan County and it’s citizens.

Serving as Okanogan County Sheriff was both challenging and rewarding. It has been a great honor to lead our county through a very tough time. I know that we have moved the Sheriff’s Office forward over the past term and built an opportunity to make it easier for the incoming Sheriff through the hard work of our team.

I wish you all the best through the upcoming Holidays!!!!

Again Thank You All!!! We have a great community to live and work in. Many don’t get the opportunity to work in LE and understand the support provided by our county.

Sheriff Tony Hawley

Thank you to all the Veterans who chose to serve our great country!!!

Many of us traveled to places we never dreamed we would ever see and had experiences with fellow service members we most likely would not have met otherwise.

All veterans signed up to protect our country and defend the freedoms we enjoy. They all did this for complete strangers. It was a great sacrifice made by them all.

Again thank you to all my brother and sister veterans many continue to serve in many ways in their home communities with the same dedication they provided to the entire USA 🇺🇸

So when they say every vote counts. This is what is meant. Tight race for Okanogan county Sheriff!!! Thank you to all who continue to support me. Also many thanks to the Okanogan County Auditors Office Elections team doing great work for our county.

Thank you to all who played on our team this weekend!!!! It was such a blast playing in the B4B softball 🥎 tournament. Even though many body parts are sore after being involved with such a great fundraiser for those fighting cancer, it is so much fun every year.

The last 3 1/2 years, I have accomplished for the Sheriff’s Office the following:
Purchased less lethal delivery systems FN 303 to provide options for deputies to resolve issues using the least amount of force required.
Coverting 12 Gauge shotguns as well to provide more less lethal options for patrol.
Purchased body cameras for patrol and corrections in order to gather evidence as well as have the best possible transparency available in situations the public may have interest in.
Communications sales tax passed in 2019 in order to improve the entire communications network for all 1st responders in the county. This will provided better communications coverage for the county and enable better service delivered to the public.
Purchased jail body scanner. This allows each inmate entering the corrections center to be scanned in order to reduce the contraband entering the facility.
Began the online application process for concealed weapons permit. This allows people to apply online and set up the fingerprint process. They are also able to renew their permits without traveling to the office. Increased convenience for those needing to travel or take time from work in order to get to the office.
Upgraded our patrol fleet replacement plan. This puts our patrol vehicles on a replacement plan in order to not have the fleet go into the severe disrepair it was in. This shows the BOCC the lifecycle of the vehicles and why they need replaced based on increased repair costs and lack of reliability to be able to respond to the publics needs.
Had the LEMAP completed which brought in Law Enforcement executives to review our agency in 2019. This was done for an outside look at the issues faced and improvements needed. The biggest issue located was the need for an updated policy manual. We are rolling out the new policies now after building a new manual.
Created a Certified Law Enforcement hiring list working with Civil service to allow those with under 2 years experience to apply without needing to go through the entry level process. This makes it easier for trained law enforcement to apply and get into our hiring list.
Created a new way for Lateral employees to get onto our hiring list. Also improved the interview process to speed up or ability to offer employment without the delays of the old ways.
Began sending 1st line supervisors through the West Point Leadership program. Investing this training in our sgts is needed in order to provide them with more tools and insight on how to get the best out of their squads in order to serve the public.
Member of the CJTC certification panel.
The Sheriff on the Centralized Fi****ms Background Check Advisory board for Washington State.
Have Jail use study in process.

Goals:
Okanogan County Mobile Crisis response for those in mental crisis that is not in need of a criminal justice response.
Plan to improve the jail or build to be able to deal with the mental health needs now facing those incarcerated.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sept 17 - Thank a Police Officer Day.

We would like to take a moment to honor and appreciate the work our law enforcment officers do to protect and serve. Do you know someone in law enfocement? Ways we can show appreciation for law enfocementme are: share a positive story about law enforcement, either in-person or on social media. A great idea is to have children write letters of support and grattitude and send to law enfocement. Most of all, we can say thank you when we see them, no matter what day it is.

We at Re-Elect Tony Hawley for Sheriff Okanogan County would like to thank Sheriff Tony Hawley for his years of dedication and service to our community. Thank you, to all of the men and women in law enfocement, who serve Okanogan County citizens and put their lives on the line for us, everyday.

It is always a pleasure to continue to support our community and the hardworking kids who bring their animals to the Okanogan County Fair!!! Many thanks to all those who put in the work to bring this celebration to our county.

Photos from Re-Elect Tony Hawley for Sheriff Okanogan County's post 12/09/2022

This year's Okanogan County Fair was extra special for everyone. No matter who you talked to, everyone was happy to be there and be together .

"The fair is important to our county as it is a family event focused on teaching our children the importance of hard work and dedication to caring for our traditions and animals. It draws our residents from accross the entire county to a celebration of the skills, abilities, talents, and hard work, to a central location allowing them to put it on display for all to enjoy. This community event allows us all to come together and enjoy the company and conversations as it slows us all down to remember what's important in our community. The people and relationships we build." - Sheriff Tony Hawley

Sheriff Hawley himself has participated in the Okanogan County Fair since the 80's. He showed steers for five years, taking Grand Champion one year in the dairy division, a year he showed a market steer and dairy bull. He also encouraged and supported his own children to show market animals for several years in order to teach them the value of hard work and to care for animals.

Congrats to all fair participants, on your hard work and dedication. Thank you to all who made this year's Okanogan County Fair a fond memory for us all.

21 year’s ago today 1st responders and fellow Americans lost so much. Our nation was changed that infamous day. Let us never forget all those who were lost and those who stood together to lessen the impact of the attack on our nation.

We all need to continue to work together for the betterment and safety of our nation starting at the community level.

Here are a few photos taken during the Stampede Grand Parade 2022. We here at the Re-Elect Tony Hawley for Sheriff Okanogan County campaign committee, think the bubbles were a big hit with everyone. It was another great Annual Omak Stampede weekend. We'd like to say a special thank you to all of our local law enforcement and first responders, for their outstanding job protecting and serving the citizens of Okanogan County during large events and special gatherings. Your service does not go unseen. Also, thank you, to the amazing citizens, who show up, and take great pride and interest in the betterment of our beautiful Okanogan County.

Many times my opponent discusses the jail restrictions. Yes there are restrictions on booking but what that means is these are the public safety crimes that shall be accepted into the Okanogan County Jail. Those are currently all Felony, Domestic Violence and DUI charges.

Should a deputy or officer in the county have a situation they feel should be accepted into the jail outside of those they are directed to call the jail and discuss the circumstances of their case. This is an effort to deal with the public safety needs of the community while also taking the steps necessary to ensure or jail remains open.

If the staff on duty does not agree the next step is to have their supervisor contact the Chief Corrections Deputy. If they are not accepted at that point they can call the Undersheriff and then myself day or night.

These are exceptional times however there still is the responsibility to take care of the safety of the correctional staff as well as those in custody.

I have worked with the county Prosecutor and the Judges each step of the way as we continue to focus on public safety for our community.

What it requires is communication and cooperation with all of our stakeholders in order to ensure the jail remains operational.

Keep in mind this will not prevent any agency from doing a proper and complete investigation in order to have a crime charged through working with the prosecutors office.
