Aimee's Home Education - Photography & Art
A diary of our home education. Lessons & ideas.
Last weeks learning.
Aimee's photo's from today. Unfortunately a lot of animals were hiding and some enclosures looked empty.
Today's field trip to Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary
I've caught up on the first 7 days reports.
A busy week this week. Aimee spent the last 2 days tidying her room, in between spellings and history yesterday. Gave her a lie in today, while I went to Witherspoon for breakfast.
Tomorrow we are at the Donkey Sanctuary for a confidence building session, and Dartmoor Zoo have a Home Ed Day Thursday. Finished off by Air Training Cadets open evening.
Aimee made her own breakfast this morning.
Aimee said, this is our new philosophy.
Aimee's photography from today at Tottiford & Kennick reservoirs.
Today we practiced grammar, watched “What On Earth” about old ship position [DECCA] technology, sound mirrors & asbestos. Walked around Tottiford & Kennick resivoirs, played Pooh Sticks.
English, Science/History, Photography/Art, PE & Geography.
Music, as we had to listen to Aimee's Spotify playlist in the car lol.

What a flipping day. That damn school is still determined to put me in an early grave, even after de-registration. Today I had a text informing me Aimee was absent. I replied asking them to stop contacting me as she has been de-registered. Then an assistant head emailed me saying "they don't recommend Home Education", but if it was my final decision I needed to send a letter to the headteacher as this was the official route. I replied that I had done this Wednesday and was STILL awaiting confirmation. Next I had an email from the heads PA saying my email was passed on to the relevant department on Wednesday. Literally shaking with anger by this point, but sought advice and apparently the email from the PA is enough for confirmation and now I can just ignore them.
Speaking to others who de-registered their children from the same school, they were all still getting texts for absence and homework detentions for months after leaving.
That school has been the bane of my life since day 1, and have caused us both so much anger and anxiety. They don't care about any pupil that struggles, only those that excel and will give them great exam results. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like they will be going away any time soon, but I can ignore them now.
There's education in everything, I keep getting told. You just need to see it.
Physics, chemistry, radiation, music, art & drama in this so far.
Edit: History, educating Aimee about Roy Castle & Peter Cushing.
