It is matric results time and many are talking about the number of distinctions they or their children got. This is great, and I congratulate all the learners who have passed and parents whose children did very well. The past two years have been tough and you made it despite the challenges!
But what if you have not done well? What if you failed or did not get the resukts you envisaged?
Failure is not always a bad thing, it is very important. We speak about success all the time but many of us know that in the journey of success we go through a lot of failures. It is the ability to resist failure or to use failure to our benefit that often leads to greater success. People always think of failure as the enemy of success. But it is not. Failure is a teacher โ a harsh one, perhaps, but the best.
Never blame anyone or anything for your failure, rather take responsibility and learn from it. You can fail many times, but you are not a failure until you begin to blame somebody else for it. It is okay to cry and be disappointed when you fail, but donโt waste your time complaining and blaming others for it, just put your failure to work for you because thatโs where youโll find success. In every failure, there's the seed to even greater success. ~ Mamokgethi Phakeng
