“So Tori, what are you going to do when college ends?” I had been asked this question so many times before but today it stood out the most because today was the last day, of my last year, in college. I’d never felt so many mixed emotions in all of my life. Ecstatic for what I had planned for the summer, tremendously anxious for when the time was to come when my friends were to leave me for univers
ity, confused as to what my next step was to be but one feeling stood out more than the rest… Freedom. Freedom to loosen the chains of what society had expected of me, freedom to find my true purpose and freedom to experience all that life had to give at the youthful age of 18. My years growing up were incredible, I was given fantastic opportunities but not without working for everything I had. My parents raised me to believe that I could and still can, achieve anything I put my mind to and that I had the ability to live an extraordinary life so with that in mind I knew I didn't want to follow a conventional route. The summer came and went and I found myself working in a 9-5 desk job with a capped income, working hard with no recognition, smiling while everyone around me was frowning, confined to four walls, with no control over the office air con and my lunch snacks consistently going missing. You pretty much guessed it, a dead end job. I remember thinking ‘IS THIS IT? There must be more to life.’
In January 2013 I had a paradigm shift the ‘more’ bit was me. I realised that I had COMPLETE control over where my future was going. I had to become a business owner to give me everything I was looking for in life. Not just any business owner but I needed a mini-franchise. Something that wasn’t too expensive to invest in, something with no glass ceiling, no boss, no set hours, no commute, lots of colleagues to help and support me, an un-capped income potential, a safe and stable company and a real chance to develop a strong, long-lasting business. That’s when I found a 35-year-old company that believed building people, builds companies and they gave me a chance to own my very own mini-franchise. That’s when I set myself up for greatness. Three years on, I am now one of the youngest business owners in the UK and have helped many others create a new life and a newly found sense of freedom for themselves and their families. I have been fortunate enough to have had six different promotions, earning myself a 5* all exclusive trip to Greece, London and next year the opportunity to travel to Dubai. I am now serving in the VIP club which is an exclusive member only club for the highest UK achievers. This is to demonstrate that if I can, so can you. The only special things about me, are my work ethic, great attitude, and my desire to achieve. But that’s probably what’s special about you too? Within six months of starting my ‘mini-business’ part-time, alongside my pressured office job, I was earning a reliable, consistent income that was enough for me to sack my boss, and eliminate the dreaded Sunday evening anxiety. Now I only recruit the best – by that I mean the best attitude. Finding your purpose and having total fulfilment in your work life isn't easy to find but just keep following your instinct and it will lead you onto the right path. Maybe it's here, with me.
