Refreshing my mind and spirit today, with my forest blend of two drops pain, two drops Northern lights Blackspruce, and two drops cypress essential oils in my diffuser. Smells like a Christmas tree.

I had a large pot of flowers and a fairy garden on my boat dock this summer. A couple of my geraniums look good at the end of the season so I replanted them from that part and made a mini fairy garden.

It's fruit fly season, at least in my neck of the woods. Here are a couple great ways to use your essential oils to keep them away.

BASIL, PEPPERMINT, EUCALYPTUS: These are a few of the essential oils that deter fruit flies. They can't stand the smell.

Try diffusing 4 drops basil, 3 drops peppermint and 3 drops Eucalyptus, or

You can dab some cotton balls in these oils and wipe around the home, especially in the kitchen area, or dip tea bags into essential oil blends and hang around the home.

🌱 DIY Stain Stick Roller

Throw away that stain remover spray or stain stick and try this awesome chemical free Stain Stick Roller you can carry anywhere easy.

🌱 Get 1 glass Roller Ball
🌱 Fill ½ roller ball with distilled water
🌱 Add 3-4 drops of your favorite citrus oil – I recommend
🌱 Citrus Fresh
🌱 Fill the rest of the roller ball with Thieves Household 🌱cleaner.

Shake before using.

Homemade Salsa with Lime Vitality Essential Oil.

Put all ingredients into a food processor and pulse until desired consistency. Store in Ball Jars. Each batch makes just about two pint ball jars of salsa.

1 14.5 oz can of diced Roma tomatoes
1 10 oz can of diced tomatoes with green chilis
3 garlic cloves
1/2 onion
1/2 tsp honey
1/3 cup fresh cilantro
1/4 tsp salt

This ladies and gentlemen, is the main reason why I teach about essential oils, the safety of use, and mainly what to watch out for as far as adulterated, diluted, fake and badly distilled essential oils. This article is disturbing and makes essential oils look bad. I am not one to talk "dirty" about any other company, but when you can buy essential oils cheap at a big box store, pharmacy, and even your health food store, you are getting what you pay for and that is not a PURE oil. Don't be fooled. The FDA allows any essential oil to be labeled "100% Pure" it it contains only 5% actual essential oil in it. That is DANGEROUS to you. Even the ones that say Organic can contain traces of chemicals and are most likely diluted with a carrier oil to keep the cost down. Very dangerous. Do your research before picking your brand for essential oils. Know where the farms are, if the company owns the farms, if they have third party farms they know nothing about, RUN!

WHAT IS AN ESSENTIAL OIL AND HOW ARE THEY MADE?

Essential oils are potent, aromatic, volatile liquid that comes from plants, shrubs, trees, bushes, roots, seeds and flowers. Volatility of plants is what give them their special characteristics and aroma. Essential oils are the essence (the life blood) of the plant that allows for the plant to repair itself, ward off pests and even other plants from invading their space.

There are two methods used to extract essential oils from a plant. One is by steam distillation and the other is by cold pressing.

Steam Distillation can be quite complex and the process a bit different for each plant type. Most plants, other than those in the citrus family, are steam distilled. The distillation temperatures and the time it takes to distill a particular plant depends much on how polar = water soluble they are.

Citrus oils such as lemon, orange, and tangerine are cold pressed and the essential oils are extracted from the rinds of the fruit and not the juice of the fruit. Citrus essential oils are not acidic like the juice of the fruit is.

Certain constituents of a particular plant's essential oils allow for these beautiful oils to support our body systems such as our emotions, immunity, digestion, hormones, musculature, endocrine, joint health, and more. The chemical makeup of each type of plant is what makes up the type of constituent that supports a certain body system.

Essential oils fight off infection, and disease in the plant, which also works as a support for our human body systems as well. God's gift to mother nature and to us. They balance our emotions and bring us back to times of good memories, and sometimes bad. For example, the first time I smelt Tangerine essential oil, it took me right back to the time my mom would go through the drive thru at the bank and I would get the orange lollipop. The smell of the Tangerine essential oil triggered a happy emotion and a familiar smell that brought back the memory.
