FDA Issues Final OTC Hearing Aid Rule and PSAP Guidance – HHTM 16/08/2022

FINALLY!!! The Hearing Aid Industry which is comprised of only a few companies has had a strangle hold on the market for decades. It is no secret that Hearing Aids have been wildly over priced. Even as other technology is being miniaturized and the prices go down, the price of hearing aids continue to skyrocket leaving large segments of people with hearing loss without options. Untreated hearing loss is a serious health and safety issue. But industry profit incentives do not care about the human toll of their greed. Now, the influx of reasonably priced amplification devices into the market should finally shake up the hostage situation many of us with hearing loss have been victim to. People have options. Hurray! This is LONG overdue.
