Today the boys from AFC Wolves United paid their respects to those who fought for our freedom .
A few pics from today ⚽️⚽️
So today was the day. The semi final if the WJYL Autumn trophy event. First up were Hednesford Town Newlands Juniors the game finished 1-1 after 30 minutes so it was down to a penalty shootout to decide who went through, where we were fortunate enough to win 2-1. The game really could have gone either way.
That progressed us to the final where we came up against Wednesfield Warriors a team who won 6 from 6 in their group. We started very well and went in at half time 1-0 up, the 2nd half was a very tense affair with chances for both teams but at the final whistle we came out 3-1 victors to hand us the cup.
So happy for the boys as they have worked their socks off to achieve what they have today to be crowned trophy winners is a fantastic achievement and we have had to overcome several very difficult, top quality teams to do so.
Hopefully we can carry on our superb form for the rest of the season. To win this trophy is an absoloute honour and full credit goes to all the players who give nothing less than 100% every week.
The boys now hold a record of P15 W13 D1 L1 which is phenomenal long may it continue.
Hopefully they get rewarded with V Bucks from their parents 😉😉.
AFC WOLVES UNITED U9S 2018/19 Showing off their new away kits on the opening day of the Walsall league season. Great opening day with 3 positive results and even more positive performances from every single member of the team. ⚽️⚽️⚽️🧡🖤🧡🖤
A few of the United boys went to East park fair today after football......it was supposed to be fun 😂😂
What a long day. Entered the Aces National tournament and we got drawn in a group with Crawley, Derby, West Brom, Leicester, Peterborough and Leeds. To be given the oppurtunity to represent the city of Wolverhampton was a great honour. We finished our group in 2nd place with 12 points. A record of 3 wins 2 draws and 1 loss. (2 points awarded for a score draw) to go with a team of NO academy players and reach the QFs was a great achievement. In the QFs it was one step too far as we lost to a very strong St Albans team who boasted several members of Arsenal and Spurs academy, they would also go on to win the tournament and were a brilliant team. We walked away with our heads held high knowing we had represented our city well. A brilliant experience for the players and hopefully a day they will remember for years to come.
Few pics from our Wyrley tournament success yesterday. 4/4 finals for the boys since May and our first win following 3 runners ups spots. Absoloutely buzzing for them. Very well deserved following all your hard work and dedication.a tense final ended 0-0 and extra time could not seperate us or Wednesfield Warriors so penalties were needed. A cruel way to end a good final.
Its not often im stuck for words. But i am right now. So proud of this team and what they have achieved this season at the ESF Butlins Skegness tournament. Runners up and scoring an amazing 33 goals in 10 games. Could not be prouder of this team this is a fantastic achievement and i hope the kids take these memories away with them for a lifetime.
Here are the details for the ESF Festival of Football at skegness this weekend. The whole Team can not wait to get there and start the fun. Looking forward to testing ourselves from teams from up and down the country. Win lose or draw we will hold our heads up high.
Will be a fantastic weekend with lots of fun and im sure lots of £1 coins spent in the arcade. We will go with a smile on our faces and let everybody know who AFC Wolves are, a club that likes to have fun and put 100% in when we are on the football field.
