Germination %age test of Cotton Seed.
First of all, we soaked cotton seeds for 2 hours.
Then we took a piece of newspaper and soaked it in water.
Then arranged 100 seeds on wet news paper in 10 rows
then folded it.
Tag it with name and signatures.
In the end, put it in the beaker having water in the bottom.
After 3 days, checked the seeds and calculated the germination percentage.

Roller Ginning machine is used to separate the seed from cotton fibre .This is a modern machine. In which the damage percentage of seed is minimum as compared to the saw ginning machine. We ginned cotton samples manually by ourselves.

Boer Goat Breeding

Boer goat is considered to be one of the most desirable goat breeds for meat production. It has gained worldwide recognition for excellent body conformation, fast growing rate and good carcass quality. The breed standards for the improved Boer goats include conformation, head, neck and forequarters, barrel,
hindquarters, legs, skin and coverings, sexual organs, size, coloring, tail, general appearance and type, and fertility.Boer goats are known to have a fast growing rate compared to other goat breeds. Growth rate of the first 12 months can be 200 g/day under good pastoral conditions.

Among all superior traits for goat meat production, heavier body weight and faster growing rate are the most notable. Birth weight of Boer kids ranges from 3 to 4 kg with male kids weighing about 0.5 kg heavier than female (Figure 1). Kids at weaning can weigh from 20 to 25 kg, depending on weaning methods and age . At 7 month of age, bucks weigh about 40 to 50 kg while does weigh about 35 to 45 kg. At yearling, bucks weigh 50 to 70 kg and does weigh 45 to 65 kg. Mature weights for bucks and does are 90-130 kg and 80-100 kg, respectively. These body weights measurements can be variable because of influences of genetics, nutrition, health and disease, breeding age and method, and management system.

Bt Brinjal:
1.Transgenic brinjals (also known as an eggplant or aubergine) created by inserting a crystal protein gene (Cry1Ac) from Bacillus thuringiensis into genome of brinjal.
2. The cry1Ac gene is under the transcriptional control of an enhanced cauliflower mosaic virus 35S (CaMV35S) promoter, which ensures the gene is expressed in all the brinjal's tissue throughout its complete life cycle.
3.NptII and aad are selectable marker genes, nptII is used to identify transgenic plants from non-transgenic, and aad is used to identify the transformed bacteria used during the development of the construct

"RECOMBINANT DNA TECHNOLOGY".
joining together of DNA molecules from two different species that are inserted into a host organism to produce new genetic combinations that are of value to science, medicine, agriculture, and industry. Since the focus of all genetics is the gene, the fundamental goal of laboratory geneticists is to isolate, characterize, and manipulate genes. Although it is relatively easy to isolate a sample of DNA from a collection of cells, finding a specific gene within this DNA sample can be compared to finding a needle in a haystack. Consider the fact that each human cell contains approximately 2 metres (6 feet) of DNA. Therefore, a small tissue sample will contain many kilometres of DNA. However, recombinant DNA technology has made it possible to isolate one gene or any other segment of DNA, enabling researchers to determine its nucleotide sequence, study its transcripts, mutate it in highly specific ways, and reinsert the modified sequence into a living organism.
