Today, we come together with heavy hearts to remember the National Day of Mourning in Bangladesh. On this sorrowful day, we reflect on the tragic events that took place in 1975, when the voice of our father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was silenced by the hands of assassins.

The magnitude of this heinous act is unimaginable. But even the amid of this darkness, rays of hope shine through. Bangabandhu's daughters, Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana, miraculously escaped the clutches of death, carrying on their father's legacy. Through their resilience, vision, and leadership, they have carried forward the ideals that Bangabandhu fought for - justice, freedom, and the betterment of our nation.

As we gather today, to pay our respects and let us offer our deepest condolences to the souls lost on that tragic day of 15th August 1975.
