It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of "Mr. Pazzles", after a tragic fall on the ice. Simon and his wife, Chris, were the founders and owners of Pazzles, the great cutter company that first introduced cutting paper on an electronic cutting machine using a mat. I first met Simon and Chris at a scrapbooking convention in San Diego where they were demonstrating and selling paper piecing projects for use in scrapbooks. Cutting the pieces from paper for their kits was tedious, so they figured out a way to use a vinyl cutter with paper, by adding a sticky cutting mat to hold the paper in place.

When I first saw their cutter in action in 2004, I knew I had to have one. It was a very expensive model, but it actually saved me a lot of money that I was going to spend on dies that year. I ordered one, and received it that November. Chris and Simon graciously invited me for private training on using the cutter at another scrapbook show in Oregon in Feb. 2005. I was a bit intimidated by it until then. They let me help in their booth that day, and I learned so much! They followed up that personal training with an online support group, and I became an avid cutter crafter!

Since that time I have purchased almost every new cutter model that they came up with, and loved each one. I still keep my Pazzles Vue on my desk, as it is my most used cutter.

Chris and Simon retired from their active role in Pazzles a number of years ago. Most recently their youngest daughter, Amanda, provided support for Pazzles machine owners. Amanda had a change in career, and she recently got married. So, while Pazzles' web site is still active, and members of the Pazzles Craft Room may still download from among many thousands of cutting designs there, we haven't seen anything new posted there lately.

I will miss Simon very much, and pray comfort for his family in this very difficult time.
