Pictures from Cam's ride tonight. This beautiful 16.2hh TB is available. He's 6 coming 7 and not a hot ride. Has never bucked, reared, bolted, needed lungeing, etc and is not spooky. Who's looking for a chunky built TB with a brave disposition who's fun and handy to ride and will happily go around in a snaffle all day?

We're excited to share him with you once he's officially on the market, so if he catches your eye stay tuned for his updates! πππ

Barbie is a trail ride pro! She doesn't mind being the last one in the back, is apparently cow-safe ππ and goes right thru water, and stays calm in big groups in a simple snaffle, stands quietly with the group and ships great too. What a great horse for hunting and trail rides in addition to dressage & jumping and lately also giving lessons! π₯°ππ¦

Cam during his ride today. We threw a western saddle & bridle on him for the first time and rode one-handed to show how VERSATILE this good-minded Thoroughbred is! Cam is 16.2hh and 6 years old and has been with us for a year. It's time for him to find his special person and his price has been reduced for a holiday sale. If interested please send a pm.
New English videos will be posted this week.
Cutie Zeke during his ride today. This gentle 14.2hh Friesian large pony / small horse is showing us he's a very good pony for kids or adults. He has a whoa button but is also athletic. He's also extremely sweet, and kind, and scrumptious! π₯° He doesn't have a mean or "pony" bone and has packed kids through mountain trails without complaint. He's friendly and eager to meet you in the paddock and as you can imagine, an easy keeper and easy to have around gets along with everyone type, and he has great manners. A true gem! π I can't wait to offer him available, but I'd like to spend a bit more time with him myself first π₯°π
SRS graduate Rembrandt (now "Dutch") learning how to ride under saddle during his first 30 days! This fancy youngster is a great student. Today he learned about walk poles.
I love this update on dear sweet Truffle!! ππ¦π

Here's a unique treat! Zeke is a coming 5 year old 14.2hh black Friesian sport pony! He's the perfect size for adults or kids! He has spent most of this year extensively trail riding all over and he has a really great personality, he's very sweet and caring and willing. Gentle gentleman, walks right up to you in pasture and is very mannerly. He's the cutest mover and has a lot of potential for dressage & jumping. He's so fun and correctly built with big bone, all on a great uphill build with the cutest face to boot. He wears a cob size bridle and small horse size blankets and does not need shoes. No vices or issues , and has dream manners. He's one of a kind! We're not taking appointments on him just yet but he will be available in time for the holidays or before, so stay tuned! π π²π¦
SRS Backstory
It was in the late 1960s that my mom was grooming at a horse show, and my dad (pictured above) was riding the jumpers. Iβd like to think I was there in spirit, on that fateful day so long ago. It was love at first sight, and within a few years, they were married-- and then off to train racehorses. After quite some time spent in the racehorse business, my parents retired from racing to raise 3 kids-- and naturally, one of them (me) was bitten by the horse bug so severely that I just had to carry on the family tradition in some form or fashion. I spent my childhood riding ba****ck on Morgans in Vermont, driving Standardbreds around an oval, training dressage & jumpers with an old Irish coach, and chasing the dreams every horse-loving little girl dreams-- the same dreams I still have today (and I bet you do, too, if youβre reading this).
In 2002/2003, I developed Striding Right Stable. I focused on a h/j riding lesson program and ex-racehorse transition & sale services. I did this until 2009, before deciding to pursue degrees in animal biology and animal ecology & behavior. In 2016, I (finally) finished school, with a BS in Zoology and a MS in Biology. (I did my thesis research on bird behavior, which was a fun detour from training large mammals!) During my MS, I was able to work on patent-pending research and a paper from my project was published in an internationally leading biology journal. While I was in school, I continued to teach riding lessons, contract out my services, work with ex-racehorses, breeze racehorse babies, and diversify by judging, trying new disciplines (started eventing; even endurance riding), just to name a few things I did from 2009-2016 while I was in school. I also continued to work with OTTBs, my true passion.
In 2017, with school officially off my plate, I resurrected Striding Right Stable. Today, we focus mainly on the training & sale of quality sport horses. I use my years of experience, coupled with my rigorous science education in animal biology and behavior, and my passion, to bring along select horses, transition them from careers, and to match them with the best possible homes. Iβve been doing this for a long time and I have a good eye, and I am an excellent trainer for young Thoroughbreds, using methods Iβve spent 15 years getting right. It is the training I am most passionate about. I also purely love finding horses amazing homes with happy new owners. I also focus on the training & show of my personal horses (all TBs), and teach private lessons to students in our barn co-op. Most importantly, my number #1 top goal is to have FUN, doing what we love, and what we are all so fortunate to be a part of -- having these great, wonderful, beautiful, giving, intelligent animals in our lives, and being able to ride & communicate with them.
