Rowan County Senior High Class of 1997

Hey Class of '97, it looks like June 10 at Poppy Mountain is a go. We are trying to get a rough estimate of how many might be attending. Stefani Smith (Brown) is taking the lead on this. She already had a bouncy house and water slide reserved for the kiddos (and any of you 37/38 year old kiddos too). She would love to know who is interested in attending for the day and who is interested in campsites. Greetings fellow Viking alumni! We wanted to get your input on a potential reunion the weekend of June 10-11. Stefani Brown and Miranda Henderson Roe have been kind enough to check on Poppy Mountain, and we could potentially have the entire place to ourselves that weekend. We can have a family friendly picnic by day, and then the entire place would be open for aan adult get together and/or camping for us that night. Happy Holidays Class of '97!!! I hope you are all well and enjoying the holiday season. I was thinking of a few dates for next summer for a potential reunion: June 10, June 24, July 15, and August 5. All are Saturdays and do not involve another holiday weekend. Does anyone have strong thoughts one way or another about any of these? We are still considering 2 events (a family-friendly lunch picnic and an evening adults-only dinner/happy hour/campout). Please feel free to comment here and give me some feedback. Thanks so much!

Hey guys and gals! We are very much in the infancy of planning this reunion, but since we nearly have 50 people engaged, I thought I'd tell you roughly what we were thinking. First, what time works best for everyone next year? Summer would be my inclination (June or July), but it is open for discussion. Second, we were thinking 2 events: one kid/family friendly and the other adults only. We had tossed around the idea of a Saturday afternoon picnic at Cave Run (Twin K***s perhaps) where families could come and play, followed by an evening dinner at a restaurant in town. We could even get a block of campsites if folks wanted to camp down at the lake. Or perhaps someone has a farm they want to offer. What do you guys think? Let's open the discussion and see what best fits for everyone. Hope you are all well, and I am excited about the prospect of seeing everyone.
