Iman al-Obeidi appeared, weeping and claimed that she was detained at a checkpoint, tied up, abused her and then led her away to be gang-r***d.
Iman Al Obeidi also spelt Eman is a Libyan Lawyer who on the 26th of March 2011 ran into the Rixos hotel, Tripoli and told journalists how she was r***d by the Libyan security forces. Journalists saw rope mark on her wrists and ankles, bruises all over her face and body and an injury which was bleeding on her thigh. She said they were drinking whiskey and handcuffed her and that 15 men later r***d
her. "They tied me up ... they even defecated and urinated on me," she said. "The Gaddafi militiamen violated my honor." As Iman spoke she was tackled by hotel staff and government minders dragged her out of the hotel tried to silence her by covering her mouth. Waitresses called her a liar and traitor and one brandished a knife, then put something over her head and led her out, despite journalist intervention, she bundled into a car which sped away. Western journalists and Arabic cameramen tried to help Iman but were verpowered by the brutal pro Gaddafi followers and some were kicked, beaten and one was threatened with a knife, one of the camera men's camera was smashed. The Libyan tv's response to this was very negative, TV presenter Hala Misrati, branded Iman as being a pr******te and went to see Iman in custody, promising Iman that she would help her and would not film her, Iman refused to speak to her however, Hala misrati, secretly filmed Iman which violates Iman's human rights. 31/03/2011 Libyan Government spokesman states when asked about Iman that he is unsure of her wherabouts but she may be held in a r**e rehabilitation centre or with her family
