I cooked an egg on my dashboard using just the sun during this heatwave The surface temperature reached over 200 degrees. A pan with oil in it was left in a closed car for an hour before the egg was added.

Brightspeed is experiencing issues with the delivery of 911 calls to the Adams County 911 center. These calls are being reported to Franklin County 911 and then back to Adams County. If you need help and cannot get through to 911, call 717-334-8101 or 717-624-2101.

Whether it's police, fire, or EMS, our telecommunicators will get you the help you need in a timely fashion. In celebration of this week, the dispatch center was decorated, snacks provided, and breakfast provided to both night shift and day shift. In addition, there are multiple municipalities that have placed BURN BANS in effect in Adams County. Please check with your local township or borough office BEFORE doing any open burning.

As a result of the power outages in the Fairfield area, the Fairfield Fire Department has opened as a warming center. The fire house is located at 106 Steelman Street in Fairfield.
