A few pictures from last weekend. Here we have some of our members learning some techniques from Jill Paul’s. (Bazentine Equine Therapy)

We looked at 5 element theory and what element are we and our horses and what that means for how we/they act. Common acupoints and K-tapings for the owner and how to apply them. Easy massage techniques that owners can do and how just brushing and picking up your horses legs can actually tell you a lot about their posture and how their body is feeling.

I’m sure the horses were grateful and happy to be the recipients of all that care and attention.

It was so good to get out and ride again today. You couldn’t beat the weather for hauling and the temp inside was perfect. Good to see some of our young riders out today as well. They were so cute to watch. Thanks to everyone who came today. See you all again in February.

NEW UPDATE:

Hello Sask Valley Riding Club Members:

While we are very thankful for the rain we are getting, it has wreaked havoc on our grid road. We have decided that it would be best to move the meeting to the Legends Centre in Warman (Board Room #3 - upper level past the food stands and central washrooms). The meeting will start at 7:00 pm and will be followed by coffee and cookies giving us a chance to catch up after the summer.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Hello SVRC Members:

With apologies for those that cannot attend, the next SVRC meeting will be held Wednesday, October 4th, NOT September 27th. We'll start with hot dogs at 6:30 pm followed by the meeting. The Agenda will be sent separately.

Thank you.

It's that time again. 😃

Our first meeting after the summer break will be held on Wednesday, September 27th at the Farrow acreage. We would like to have a hot dog BBQ to kick it off. If you want to bring a salad or dessert or something, that would be great. We'll start the BBQ at 6:30 pm and have the meeting start around 7:00 pm. RSVPs would be helpful to know how many hot dogs to buy (the Club will cover the cost of the hot dogs). Please email [email protected].
Bring a chair & hope to see you all there.'

Hello SVRC Members:

We hope everyone has had a great summer. This is a reminder that we have booked the Trail Obstacle Course at the Grasswood Horse Park this Sunday (details below):

Sunday, September 10, 2023

1:00-4:00 pm

Cost = $10 per rider (haul in fee for non-CPHRA members – please Etransfer the SVRC)

Please pick up after your horses on the trail course and in the parking lot. Last person to leave closes and locks all gates behind you. Note, we have only rented the obstacle course, not the arenas so please do not use those.

This is a great opportunity for SVRC members to get out and challenge your horse and have some fun!

27/05/2023

Hi everyone:

This is a reminder that the next SVRC meeting is Monday, May 29th. We had hoped to have a ride after the meeting but with the much-needed rain, Farrow’s arena is too soft for riding. The meeting will go back to the standard time of 7:00 pm and will be in-person only at Farrow’s acreage. If the weather is nice we will be sitting outside.

See you there.

Your first aid matters. A few of our members attended the Back 40 Wilderness First Aid Training by Rebecca Mollison. Very hands on and some really good mock accidents were had. Glad it wasn’t real and all for fun but you never know right?!
Here are a few candid pictures.

The pens are coming down at Living Waters next week on Thursday. (18th) We have a small group to help but if you’re free and willing we won’t turn you down. We have a bobcat to do the hardest work but there will be some dismantling and stacking until we decide what to do with it all.
Thanks and have a great day. Hope you’re all getting some good riding in these days.

A few pictures from our evening of working our horses on the flag. Fun was had by all and looking forward to the next one.

27/04/2023

We will be holding a flag night at the Farrow Acreage this evening at 6:30 for SVRC members. Come on out and teach your horse to track, stop and draw back on his haunches. Lots of room to ride around and have some fun. Hope to see you there.

Today was a good day to be inside for a few hours to ride and spend time with friends. It was especially good to see the little ones out spending time on the horses too.
This was our best turnout yet. Here are just a few that attended, sorry if I missed you. I’ll get you next time.
