I was actually in the hospital for 3 days and released the day before the show 😯 It was very intense but adrenaline and Prednisone got me through it! 😅 Thank you to everyone for your support and to the badass for welcoming us on your stage! 💘💕❤💋⚡ You guys have the best vibes and scene in this town!

"Jessie Deluxe
M A G I C
Jessie Deluxe released her album, MAGIC,
on July 15th, and serves as commentary on
the current social economic environment
while using punk, rock, and metal
undertones.

Opening with the rigid "Apocalypse",
Jessie Deluxe is ready to tell you exactly how
she feels about the current state of the world.
I have to admit, this song falls in a genre I
don't normally listen to, the lyrical content
simply blows that aspect out of the water.
Commenting on capitalism, racism, the food
industry, and about everything in between,
"Apocalypse" is telling of just how discontent
people are with our current environment.
Moving next into "Magic", I'm always
interested in how title tracks play into the
rest of the album. While this song isn't as
hardcore and obvious as "Apocalypse", it still
plays off of these very political motivations
behind the album. "Magic" is softer
production-wise, and showcases Jessie
Deluxe's very precise vocal range.
Skipping over to track 4, "Eden (Will We
Ever Touch the Ground)" is my personal
favorite track from the album. "Eden…" is
grungy and dark, but so painstakingly
poignant. You can hear it in every corner
that Jessie Deluxe is so fed up with so many
outside forces to the point of using very
loaded and emotional wording to get across
her frustrations.

Another stand-out track in my personal
opinion is "It's Gonna Get Better" which is so
different from the story the rest of the album
is telling. MAGIC is about being angry with
the world and being angry about the point
it's gotten to, yet with "It's Gonna Get Better"
it's a glimpse of hope. It's a beacon for
wanting to fix the crumbling world around
us. Jessie Deluxe has presented this entire
storyline of anger and frustration with
everything around us, and "It's Gonna Get
Better" sticks out as this anthem for wanting
actual, meaningful change.
Rounding out this review is the final track
on the album, "Empress". The grittiness of
this song definitely reminds me of that of the
opening track, "Apocalypse", with some
stunning vocals similar to "Magic". This song
also sticks out lyrically, as the lyrics are not
as obviously politically motivated, and more
based around the ascension past these issues.

All in all, MAGIC is a stunning album with
intense commentary sure to be interesting to
any listener. If you're looking for your next
moving piece on the current state of the
world, look no further than MAGIC.
