Day 30: Connection

Over the years I have had a handful of customers come back to me months or years later to add to their pieces.

Moms who had another baby.

Grandmothers who now have more grandchildren.

It is so fun to see a piece come back and be able to add to it! I also enjoy seeing the "wear" on the piece. It shows that the piece has been loved.

I'm always happy to add to or change pieces as they grow with your family. It also give me an opportunity to polish it back up for you!

Day 29: Packaged

If you're looking to gift one of my pieces I would love to box it up special for you!

And I can ship! To you or straight to your gift recipient!

I've been playing with some new ways to tie up these little kraft boxes. What do you think!? Keep it simple with just a bow? Add a little sprig of faux greenery? Or do it up more with an added lace doily? Which would you choose?

Day 28: Vision

My journey with stamping has always been go-with-the-flow. When life is slow I use that time to make new designs, test new supplies, and engage with more customers. When life is busy I focus more on keeping stock full and being prepared for any orders that pop up.

My vision as the months and years move forward is to continue to find pockets of time, between raising my kiddos, to grow my business so I can continue to work from home and be there for them whenever they need me. I love working from home in the in-between moments of life, and I hope I can always do this. For me and for my family.

Day 27: Moment of Calm

My calm is in the designing, dreaming, and sketching. Sometimes this looks like just scrolling with a cup of coffee in one hand while the kids are eating breakfast, looking for inspiration or words that catch my attention. This is relaxing and enjoyable.

Oh, and coloring. Not jewelry related. I just love it, it's soothing, and brings me joy!.

Day 26: Call to Action

As with any small business today, I think the hardest part is getting eyes on your product. I have a lot of hopes and plans this year on how I can increase visibility from my end. But one of the best ways is right here with YOU. ♡

Engagement.

When you LIKE or COMMENT on my posts it helps boost the algorithm and helps more of my followers see it too.

And SHARING my posts occasionally is amazing as it allows people who YOU know to see my work. Maybe one of your friends will see one of my pictures and find that perfect piece that brings them joy! So pick your favorite post or picture and share it or comment on it or like it!

I promise, I smile and say a little "thank you" every time one of my posts gets a LIKE!

Day 25: Product Story

I love custom orders. Helping a customer bring to reality an idea they have or to assist them in creating a gift for someone is so special.

A few years ago I had a friend reach out to me and she wanted to create something for her daughters' preschool teacher, as they loved her so much and her kids were graduating to Kindergarten. We worked together to make this adorable and special keychain they gifted to her.

Fast forward a few years and now my daughter attends her preschool! And we agree, she is pretty great! What a full circle moment!

Oh yeah, I make keychains too! 😀

Day 24: My Work
Christmas

I do more than just jewelry! This past Christmas I had a lot of fun making these metal ornaments! These were all packaged up and for sale at Made In Chico.

Oh, and this font! 😍 It might just be THE most fun to stamp with! You can line up the letters or move them up/down to create a more creative look.

Next year I'd love to make some custom ornaments with family names on them!

Day 23: My Work
Thankfulness & Words

Grateful
Thankful
Blessed

I love these three words together. A great reminder to live in the moment and appreciate all of the wonderful around you.

I love how words can bring so much purpose and intention to our lives. It is one of the reasons I enjoy stamping jewelry so much. Words can make a piece of jewelry become so much more than just something beautiful to wear. Everytime I put on one of my pieces I take pause to think about the name or word(s) or flower that is stamped on it and it brings me so much joy.

Day 22: Positive

I really enjoy making pieces that have a positive word or phrase to live by. Every time that piece is put on reminds the wearer that they are special, to live life intentionally, or to enjoy their day. My hope is that they can look at that piece throughout the day to help inspire them in some way.

Some of my favorites are:
choose joy
worthy
strength
faith
believe

Day 21: Details

It's all about the spacing. Not too close, not too far apart. Attention to detail when stamping each letter is what gives each piece that intangible quality.

Day 20: Day in the Life

Today I am dreaming and designing while the kids play with play-dough. This part is the easiest to do on a daily basis. I can grab a piece of paper and write down ideas and sketch out designs. I have lots of notebooks filled with ideas, words, quotes, and designs.

On a good day, I'll sneak in some extra time to stamp while my littlest is napping.

And then I'll wrap up the day with polishing and finishing pieces once the kids are in bed.

While I may not have as many hours each day to create as I would like, it's all about fitting in a little bit of work in the gaps.

Day 19: Gifting Ideas

So many occasions for gifting! Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduations, Valentine's Day, anniversaries, birthday, Birth-day (push gifts!), Christmas, even Thanksgiving!

And so much more than just necklaces. I make bracelets, earrings, keychains, keyrings, trinket dishes...

You name the occasion and I can help you design a gift perfect for the person you have in mind. I love helping people design and create custom pieces.

Then, let's wrap it up! I'm happy to offer gift packaging in a sweet little kraft box tied up with a bow!

Think of me for your next gift! I'd love to help!

Day 18: Process

Taking a piece of metal and an idea in my head and turning it into this.

Design - choosing a font and metal blank, then either sketching it out on paper or using aluminum tape to do a mock up to make sure everything fits;

Set Up - tooling, measuring, taping;

Stamping - carefully, lining up each letter one at a time and hitting it with just the right force (every letter and font are different), if I make a mistake I have to get a new piece of metal and start over, not such a big deal if it is a small word or phrase, but can you imagine making a mistake in the last few letters of a 20 word phrase;

Darken - adding ink to the impressions to make each letter stand out;

Polish - remove excess ink and bring back the shine of the metal;

Finish & Findings - putting the whole piece together to make a necklace, bracelet, earrings, keychain, etc.

My favorite part? Definitely the designing and stamping.

Day 17: My Work
Coordinates

Think about a location that is really special to you.
A place you go every year to get away?
The place you met your significant other?
The location you got engaged or married?
Somewhere you visited that holds special meaning?
My coordinates bar necklace is a unique way to remember that location.

How fun would this be as a gift to someone to surprise them that they are going on a trip somewhere!?

These make great gifts for anniversaries!

I can also make these on bracelets or keychains!

Day 16: My Work
Birthdays

Anything goes for someone for their birthday.

A necklace with their name.

A bracelet with their favorite quote.

A necklace with their birthmonth flower.

An inspirational word or phrase to remind them how special they are.

Or even just a simple heart.

Tell me what you want stamped and I'll help you design the perfect piece!

Day 15: Challenge

Design stamps... eesh. These can be so difficult. The more surface area on a stamp (the more intricate the design) the more difficult it is to get a good impression. Often the impression is too shallow or the stamp jumps and you get a double impression.

My favorite design stamp is the heart because it is so sweet and simple but also because it is easy to stamp on anything! Flower design stamps are a favorite once they are stamped (haha!) but they are by far the hardest to stamp.

There are a lot of 'oopsies' and starting over when it comes to stamping designs. But it is so worth it!

Day 14: Collection

Collection of names. Names, or initials, of children, grandchildren, or your own name. I offer so many different designs and styles that incorporate names.

This is where it all began, when I bought my first set of stamps to make a gift for someone with the names of their children. Simple and meaningful.

Who would you gift one of these to?

Day 13: Signature Style

Simple, shiny, classic.

The mirror finish stainless steel I use for most of my jewelry pieces is beautiful and stylish. The perfect touch for dressing up but also simple enough to wear day to day. I offer them in silver stainless steel and gold plated stainless steel. My best sellers are usually small pendants with just one or two words. Simple. Classic.

What do you wear the most? Silver or gold?

Day 12: Focus & Priorities

In the slower months of late winter I've been focusing on what I can do to expand my reach and showcase my work more. I hope to launch an ordering system this year that makes placing an order easier. (In the meantime, just message me!) But as winter switches to spring, my priorities switch to gearing up for Mother's Day and graduations!

But in life, my priorities are definitely with my family first. I am blessed to be a stay-at-home-mom, at least while my children are very young. I love that I get to be there with them as they grow and experience the world. While it might be difficult some weeks to fit in the work while being a mom, I wouldn't have it any other way. Jewelry stamping allows me to be there with my kids, be artistic and creative, and provide a little extra for my family. I am genuinely thankful for each and every order I receive and really enjoy making these pieces for you!

Day 11: Today I'm Making...

Lots of necklaces to stock up for Mother's Day and Graduations! Even though May/June are still a couple of months away, those are my best and busiest weeks, so I have to prep months before. First it's Mother's Day and then back to back to back graduations for three weeks. It's busy, but I love it!

There are so many great options for moms, from the simple and sweet initials or birth month flowers, to a loving sentiment that embodies the journey of motherhood.

Graduations are the perfect time to remind someone how hard they have worked or what to look forward to on their next journey. I love to stamp inspirational words and messages for people to wear.

Day 10: My Work
Mother's Day

Mama. Mom. Mommy. Mother. What do your kids call you?

Moms love jewelry honoring them or their children. The pieces I personally wear the most are my mom-inspired pieces. The Mother's Day jewelry I make range from small and simple to phrases and multiple pendants.

Day 9: My Work
Graduations & Inspirational

Stamped jewelry is a great gift for someone celebrating a graduation or promotion. You can find a quote or phrase that is meaningful for the recipient and I can stamp it on a necklace, bracelet, keychain, etc. This is a fun and beautiful way to celebrate someone and give them something that will remind them of their accomplishments or inspire them in their next chapter.

Day 8: Brand

Serendipity means finding good things without looking for them, or good luck in making unexpected and fortunate discoveries.

I love the idea that someone might stumble upon one of my pieces in a shop and the words stamped on it are exactly what that person needs in that moment. I picture them taking that piece home and every time they wear it it holds a special meaning for them. That's serendipity.

Day 7: Combination

Font Combos! I love a good mix and match with fonts! Having a variety of different font stamps in various sizes is so much fun! Especially when stamping out a long phrase, I can emphasize words and break up the monotony by mixing fonts. My favorite is using a sans or unicase font and pairing it with a script font. So good!

Day 6: Tasks

I wish all I did each day is stamp, stamp, stamp (ok, maybe design and stamp - I love that part too!), but my days are filled with a lot more than stamping. Inventory, cleaning stamps and tools, ordering metal, organizing supplies, pricing, labeling, photography (Why is metal so hard to photograph!? Oh, yeah. It's reflective. Gah.), and stocking up my favorite shop, Made in Chico.

And all of that squeezed into the small gaps of the day between raising my two little ones as a stay at home mom. ♡

Day 5: Evolution

Where I started... With one set of alphabet stamps, a spare hammer out of my parents garage, and the eagerness to learn. There was a big learning curve in understanding how hard to hit each stamp (yep, some have to be hit much harder than others!) and how to line them up properly based on how the font is designed and the space on the metal. I had so much fun stamping out all sorts of things just to practice and get a feel for the tools!

How far I've come... Now I have over a dozen professional alphabet stamp sets, plus numbers, symbols and designs! It's a dream! I've worked through many different metal types over the years (nickel, brass, copper, aluminum) and finally settled on stainless steel. It might be harder to stamp on, but it can be polished to shine beautifully, it's tough, doesn't tarnish, and is hypoallergenic.

Through years of practice and an upgrade in tools I really feel I've found my style and groove. I absolutely love the look of my work now and so proud of the pieces I make.

Oh, and my photography has gotten a lot better too!

Day 4: The Human Touch
One-by-one, each letter, number, symbol, and design is individually hand stamped by me with a trusty hammer. Years of practice has taught me how to line them up just right. With each letter being a separate stamp it gives me all the freedom to design things however I want. This makes each piece one of a kind, as no two stamps will be in exactly the same spot each time. It also means that just one letter mis-stamped and I have to start the whole piece over again. Ops! 😅
