Love for dogs is an Arizona based 501(c)3 non profit dog rescue. We are all volunteer and all foster
Look at this happy boy Vail. We told him a home of his own was coming soon, is that you?
Looking for their own furever! Frost, Casper, Everest, Vail and Zander. These dogs are each looking for their own furever-after. They would love the chance to prove themselves and are available to adopt or foster or foster to adopt! Please share, message us, send to your friends!
Frost - Casper - Everest - Vail are all terrier mix 5 month old pups - have all their shots, fixed and chipped - get along with other dogs and kids.
Zander is an 8 year old sweet dude that gets along with other dogs and is crate trained. He's fixed, chipped, up to date on shots and had a recent dental!
Can you please help them all find their own happily furever-after?
It's not your dog's job to teach your child - it YOUR job. Worth the quick read.
Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?
The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.
I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.
"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"
"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."
"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."
"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."
In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

Thank you all who shared, commented, messaged and reached out! CAASR has picked them up and they are safe and sound! (https://www.facebook.com/groups/339841758758261/)
The daughter is grateful and relieved to keep a promise to her mom.
If you offered to foster - please reach out to us or another rescue local to you - we need you soooo much!
Thank you to our remarkable village that jumped into action - you are appreciated more than words can express!

This is Millie & Maude. They are large littles or small-mediums, who have been together their whole life - they're 7 fixed, chipped, and up to date on shots, unknown with kids, cats or other dogs. Their mom/guardian moved to Cottonwood to help care for family and then suddenly died leaving behind her daughter (and husband) and the two dogs. The husband wants them gone so immediately he's threatening to take them out in the desert (jerk, especially when his MIL just died - way to support your wife). Family can bring them to Scottsdale/Phoenix. Fostering for a rescue (any rescue), they supply everything, you supply love and time. I'm not gonna lie, adoptions are slow so this won't be a one or two week thing but more longer term. Can you help - comment or message us and please share.
Casper is super proud he could show us where the drip system is this morning! He loves toys and playing and snuggling! Casper is good with dogs of all sizes and even cats, and they all did great with lots of pokey tiny fingers at recent outings. He should be well under 15lbs when heās a big boy, but for now this scruffy five month old is patiently waiting for a home of his own.
Vail is five months and 12lbs, weād think heāll be around 18lbs as an adult. Heās fun and loving and loves people and dogs! While mom was part havanese, heās a bit soft and a bit scruffy, so maybe more cairn terrier like some of his brothers.
Thank you Yasmin and Vida for the food and all the chew toys to keep our big litter occupied and teething on safe things!ā¤ļøš¾š¶š¦“
Fosters needed! (Or adoptersš)
These puppies need to move to their next steps in socialization desperately. We have EIGHT puppies weād like to get into foster homes even if itās for a week or a month or until adopted. Can you help? We supply everything!
Zander is an adorable mature poodle mix. Heās low maintenance, past puppy antics, gets along with other dogs, is crate trained and had a recent dental. Might you have a soft spot for this lovely boy in your heart and home?
Brie is our smart snuggler. She loves to snuggle and play and has always been the first to venture out and discover new things. We think Brie will be about 12lbs, sheās 4 months and fixed, chipped and has all her shots! Brie is ready for a family of her own.
Aspen is our tiny girl. She loves people and being held. Sheās scruffy terrier something who we think will be 10lbs or less - travel size!
Denali is our sensitive boy. He loves his person and looks longingly into your eyes. Heās probably part doxi and part terrier, and we think will be around 17lbs. Do you have room in your life for a furry boy who would idolize you?
Did you say puppies??? This litter was born Jan 8 and are ready for their furever homes. Mom is a havi mix and about 15lbs - we expect the litter to range from 10-15lbs. Dad may have been a doxi or terrier mix from the long ears and body on a bunch of them - we are calling them terrier-doxi-have mix! They would love a home with another confident dog to show them the world.
Snickers came to us when her family became homeless and she had 9 stowaways on board that are finally available for adoption, and now itās her turn. Snickers is just over a year old and about 17 pounds and probably Havanese mix. She is an awesome dog that is crate trained, and potty trained. She can entertain herself with toys or play with other dogs. Sheās enthusiastic on the leash. If you are interested in Snickers, please answer some questions on our website so that volunteer can reach out.
so much appreciation to and Neo for their support of rescues - we love our donation box we get - one of the toys was already stolen by the foster dog lol
Because there's never enough Reggie and his scruffy face. Look at this adorable dog looking for his own adorable fur-ever-after. Is that you? Someone you know?
Pupdate! Zander did awesome! Apparently the teeth he did have last were in very bad shape and now that they are all gone, he should be able to be his handsome charming self!
Please say a prayer for Zander - he's getting a much needed dental today He was at the shelter as a stray for a week encased in his fur, mouth shut by fur and a mouth full of rotted teeth. His first blood test had his white blood cell count through the roof; his second bloodwork was much better after antibiotics. The good news is that once this week is over, he will be available for adoption and never have to suffer again. He's a poodle mix, about 6-8 years old, 12lbs-ish. If you are interested, let us know! Paws crossed!
Cute butt huh!?! I love to play! I love people! I love other dogs too! I'm so very sweek too! I love my foster home but they say it's time for me to find my own adventure - is that you?
Reggie says HEY! Help me find my very own furever please - apply, share, talk about me to anyone you know! I'm 5 months, have all my shots, I'm crate trained, doing well on potty training, I like going to happy hour with you or brunch on Sundays, and of course I'd love an active dog to play with. My foster mom thinks I'll end up being a small-medium dog of about 25-30lbs. Ask about me today! Share-me!
Meet our new little buddy - we are waiting on his foster picking a name. (Formerly) Caldwell was on the e-list for being snippy/growly. Luckily he had the same shelter person cleaning around him where the seeds of trust were planted. While he was overwhelmed in the car leaving the shelter, we got kisses and he let us pet him all over his head, at some food, drank water, took a treat, and peed on his new bed! Thank you all who networked to get him out!
Meet Avi - 6 years and 5lbs of big dog attitude in a tiny package! He loves being the center of attention and would prefer if you didn't let his precious feet touch the ground all that often - you are after all his servant! Avi is available for foster or foster to adopt while we are waiting on his dental hopefully scheduled for the 14th. If you'd like to know more, please answer some questions at www.lovefordogs.org/adopt-foster so his people can reach out!
Reggie finally has all his shots so his foster mom took him to OHSO for a drink to celebrateā¦he did awesome! Heās 4 months and got legs for miles. This scruffy boy should be about 30lbs as an adult. Ask us about him, he loves other dogs and people!
Thank you Arizona Midday for featuring our cute boy!

We are looking for a few volunteers this Saturday in NE Scottsdale to help at a puppy socialization / dog adoption event. If you live out here, please message us - 10-1. Puppy breath, soft fur...cuteness overload.
Jax was adopted from us last year. Can you tell his mom adores him? Fostering saves lives!
Hey! Itās me, Reggie! Iāve got legs for miles! And my foster mom thinks Iām charmingš„° she says Iām going to be medium size but thatās anything but average. I love other dogs, sleeping and eating.
